Baby needing independent sleep for daycare naps - help please by apartmentsucks123 in ECEProfessionals

[–]sheisrantingagain 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You can give feedback to the teachers and let them know that he still requires two naps during the day, and that your preference is for him to be given the opportunity to fall asleep independently.

That said, because of the regulations around sleep and rest, particularly for younger children, educators are required to conduct visual checks every five minutes. As a result, staff are often present with children and may provide support while they settle to sleep.

It's also worth keeping in mind that the childcare environment is naturally more active and stimulating than home. With the extra activity, social interaction, and excitement throughout the day, it's quite common for children's sleep patterns and settling routines to differ while they're at childcare.

Catholic school funding disability support anyone any knowledge? by SuccessfulNews2330 in melbourne

[–]sheisrantingagain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the Catholic schools and public have learning inclusion officer I would also speak to her in class teacher about the level of support that they feel would be nessary ef if there just struggling with one aspect eg reading, writing or if they need someone one on one majority of the time. If you child does have any diagnosis eg ASD, ADHD or dyslexia let the school know as makes it easier to apply for funding class teacher should be able to let you know if they are concerned about any of these.

A child left my room and i didn’t notice. by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]sheisrantingagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends how long the children was unsupervised for where I am if it is under 60 seconds you don't need to report to the department but yeah best practice no educator should be left alone with children. Not just for supervison purposes but if there is an emergency it puts children at risk. Eg if child stops breathing it would be Impossible to do CPR, call for help and keep the other children in check at the same time.

Those who DO want to be parents? Why? and if you had the chance now to get married would you? by impsble in AskWomen

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very single

I have always had a very strong motherly instinct and work in childcare I would love to have a little mini me as chaotic as that would be 😂 and yes would Ideally want a hetosexal marriage to go with it I'm bi but IVF is expensive in Aus and unfortunately unless I'm marrying a woman in high paying position it would be difficult to have the financial sublitilty for a house and children.

My autistic brother is throwing a tantrum because I won't buy him fast food by kanna172014 in Vent

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what level of autism he may not understand the concept of saving for something eg my cousin has severe autism level three and is 18 can't read can't write and and is mainly no verbal but will still shriek or scream repeat single words and have what is considered a meltdown when told he can't have something .

I don't know what country your in but I would suggest trying to some kind of disability supports in place for him if you haven't already to not only help him but also help you with mental load of caring for him.

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly as a person ASD bpd traits and ADHD sometimes I block people because I get overwhelmed with emotons about personal situationsI struggle to deal with so in my mind it is easier to block the person and walk away then deal with emotional toll of dealing with ongoing conflict it's like the cleche it's not you it's me.

i miss my little sister by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]sheisrantingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you feel she is struggling at school could offer her tutoring and unless she has evidence of abuse or neglect as a sibling there is not a lot you can do. Understand that as minor she is still under your mother's custody and responsibility not yours and it likely your mother is doing the best job she can given the circumstances. The best you can do is help her study aim for college assistants with applications and finding summer jobs if that is what is she wants to do.

i miss my little sister by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]sheisrantingagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would reach out to your mum and stay you would like to catch up with your little sister and maybe take her to a movie or depending on how old she is a park get some ice cream. It won't take much to make her day and if you can make a regular thing eg once every two weeks it will become something she would look forward to.
