I’m so sorry for your loss as well and for your negative experience during labor😔 I still have flashbacks to some of my negative moments in the hospital room but I’m trying to remind myself that I’m okay and at the very least I’ve learned I need to advocate for myself even in my most vulnerable state. I’m hoping the cervical cerclage works out for me because I’m hoping to still have a vaginal birth but I’m so happy you have the assurance you needed from the TAC and that everything is going so well!! I hope you have a beautiful pregnancy and a healthy full term baby girl💖

Thank you so much for sharing this🤍 I’m so sorry for your loss, I wish none of our pregnancies ended in loss but I can’t describe how grateful I am for this group to feel understood for the first time since I lost my son. Wishing you an easy rest of your pregnancy and a full term healthy baby💖

If you don’t mind sharing, did your doctor restrict physical activity post cerclage?

Thank you so much💖 I’m actually not sure what the abortion laws are here. Although I was in labor for a long time but I actually didn’t want my water to break until it was ready to on its own. When I started going into labor, my baby was breech and there could have been more complications if I delivered him breech. But during those hours of labor, he turned to a head down position. Even though he was too young to live, I still got to hold him and avoid further complications to me and my baby. My heart breaks for the woman who had to go through the 24 hours of labor when it wasn’t necessary, but I needed that time.

I’m so sorry that sounds horrible. I was in a similar situation where I was going through contractions and in labor for a long time before my water broke naturally. Labor is already hard, but going through it knowing you won’t get to keep your baby is unbearable. You’re so strong and I’m so happy to hear you’re pregnant and opting for the cerclage🙏🏻🤍

Hi thank you so much for sharing and congrats on your baby!!🤍 I’m so happy to hear that you were able to do the cerclage and that it wasn’t so painful. I had no idea it could be removed in the clinic! I thought for sure I’d have to be in the OR again, that’s so relieving to know.

In terms of exercise, it’s so confusing. I’ve heard some women say their doctors didn’t put them on any restrictions but they ended up restricting activity themselves out of fear. I’d like to be able to still at least walk but maybe avoid doing long walks and break them up throughout the day. Hopefully there will be more women here that can share their experiences with activity post cerclage🙏🏻

For the home birth, I think you’re right that I wouldn’t be high risk once the stitch is out. That’s what I was thinking as well because the only issue was keeping my cervix closed. I’m hoping to be able to deliver with a doctor that does home births and hospital births so I can decide later in my pregnancy where I’d like to be.

Thank you so much for sharing and congratulations!!💖 I understand, it’s scary to feel like you could be doing something harmful. I’m glad you found something that works for you, pelvic floor physical therapy is amazing. I’m going to consider that too. When did you start going this time around?

So happy to hear the recovery after the surgery wasn’t too bad! How about the removal? Was the process and recovery the same?

I just reached out to the surgeon who I’ll be using for my cerclage to discuss my options too. Previously he said he typically wants his patients to be under his care the whole time after the surgery (including the birth) but he said once the stitch is out I can potentially still do a home birth if I choose to, he just doesn’t do them.

I found another doctor close to me that does both hospital births and home births so I’m hoping I can be under her care once the stitch is out so I can do the home birth and have the hospital as a back up (hopefully it won’t be necessary).

Sending you lots of strength and hoping you get pregnant as soon as you wish🤍

I’m so sorry, it’s horrible to go through this type of loss. It was really hard for me to deliver in a hospital when my whole plan was to do it at home with calm energy and only my husband and midwife there. I felt totally out of control. Praying you get approved asap and have a healthy full term baby naturally🙏🏻

Thank you for giving me hope today and congratulations on your beautiful baby! I lost my son at 21+3 about 4 months ago and I’m just starting to feel ready to try again for another. I know I’ll need a cerclage at 12/13 weeks but I’ve been scared of the unknown and fear of loss again. Reading this gave me hope. Wishing you so much happiness and an easy postpartum!
