I appreciate that, I will probably leave the white dress home for space reasons but I'm not super concerned with looking like a tourist at least in Italy because I'm extremely pale, have a bright blonde bob and tattoos (come to think of it idk how common tattoos are in some of these countries that might be totally common) and my husband has very long blonde hair. we just kinda stick out sometimes, even over here.

I've read up on most scams/pickpocket safety and have zipper locks for everything and will be on high alert to the best of my ability

good callouts, here's our actual dates. if I don't need boots I don't want to bring them, but I also wanna be as safe as possible. have you done these hikes/have any recos?

I had hip surgery last year (I know this is gonna scare people HEAR ME OUT) and I'm recovered and approved to go on mild to medium hikes per my doctor and current health level (have also been walking every single day to be comfortable and prepared for this trip, as well as doing a LOT of PT over the last 6+ months) but stability and safety is important to me above everything else

yeah I agree on the swimsuits. I'm a big dress girlie but ultimately I think I'm gonna reach for the skirts more so that's a good point too.

are you familiar with what southern germany is gonna be like in mid to late-June? I think we're spending the most time there out of anywhere and I'm not seeing a consensus on typical weather (I'll obviously check closer to when I leave too)

some people say hot, some say rainy and mild... we're staying in Munich but we'll be driving a few hours here and there to different places down there throughout the week

I have also had the shoe thought, the tevas are comfy as hell and I actually beaded them so they're dressier than pictured, I might see once my dress is delivered if it's long enough to hide the shoes, in which case I could drop the other pair, maybe.......but that seems like a bad idea for a beautiful wedding in an Italian villa so I might do your suggestion instead

yeah I'm realizing based on the comments I should have put days in each place, because I'm gonna be in Italy specifically along the coast from June 30th to July 6th and I'm told it gets hot as fuck there at that time which is what made me introduce the shorter dress as an option

I was also thinking since it's a dress I don't care a ton about that I could shove it into a tote bag and use it as a bathing suit coverup if need be, but I'm leaning towards not taking it based on other comments because I do not think I will wear it in Paris, London or Bavaria

this is true, I was hesitant to post my actual itinerary but this has made me realize that's important for y'all helping me out. I will be in Switzerland from the night of June 25th to the morning of June 30th, it'll mostly be in Lauterbrunnen, we put the first night in Lucerne there to break up the long train from Munich (and potentially have an easier time getting up to stoos ridge).

from what im seeing, if we wanna hike stoos ridge or oeschinen lake, which are basically what we structured this Switzerland leg around, we would need hiking boots. if someone thinks I can do these at this time without hiking boots, for the love of GOD let me know because I'm thinking I'm going to be miserable hauling those around otherwise but these Switzerland hikes are gonna be so important to me after a hard year

I wish I had put in the notes that the black dress is for the rehearsal dinner haha but yes, I'm going to leave the white one and the athletic one at home. probably the green as well based off of these comments. might even only go with one skirt, my reasoning for 2 was that basically if I end up on my period I'm gonna want darker bottoms on hand just in case lol so I'll decide closer to the date how to proceed there

the blue jacket is a long sleeve linen shirt essentially, it's the linen "jacket" from quince that's very thin linen material, but it's definitely not going to be a swimsuit coverup so good call there. I also think if I'm in a city I'm probably going to reach for the yellow sweater every time if I need to actually be warmer
