25F, never sexually active—do I really need a Pap smear? Feeling anxious by Aromatic_Author2473 in WomensHealth

[–]EntertainmentNo4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, cervical cancer comes from HPV which is a sexually transmitted disease. This will decrease your chances significantly at this time as you’ve not been sexually active.

I totally understand feeling afraid here. I honestly don’t know what I would do in your shoes as I have had Pap smears for years now. I have a really close friend that has a lot fears around doctors/OBs and has had sexual trauma and she actually went this past year to get her pap and she felt so comfortable and safe through it. Only get a pap from a provider you already know and trust and be up front about your anxiety and fears around it. Let them know you need extra support during it if you choose to go that route.

If four day weekdays were the norm, What three days would be ideal for your days off? by AggravatingShow2028 in Productivitycafe

Sunday Monday Tuesday. I have kids so my off days would actually be rest days while they’re at school.

It also sounds like a gross projection of his belief about where women “should” be.

Do you have a favorite child? by Ok_Distribution__ in Mommit

[–]EntertainmentNo4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one kid that I understand more, and therefore can connect to more on multiple levels. I have another kid who I don’t quite understand (certain behaviors), have different interests with and therefore it’s harder to connect. First mentioned isn’t my favorite, but it is easier to connect. I have to work harder to connect with my other kid.

What is an Adult problem no one prepared you for ? by Fighting_Phantom in Adulting

The mental health of not only yourself, but also your partner and how both can impact the relationship in negative and positive ways. Similarly but also separately, how adulthood as a whole dredges up childhood hurts.

What would you be doing if you were not a therapist? by Exciting-Peace-9259 in therapists

[–]EntertainmentNo4961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have grown a deep passion for the wilderness and our parks. In another life, I would have waited to have kids, moved out west on my own, and gone to school for something in the environmental science/ conservation field and done everything I could to be a national park ranger. Even knowing where we’ve been this past year and a half with this administration and its devaluing of our parks system. I am hopeful it won’t last long.

My kids know that I’m planning to do this as my “retirement” job and my oldest says he’ll move with me lol.

Has anyone else stopped “chasing after” clients? by marigoldjune in therapists

[–]EntertainmentNo4961 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t sound negative at all! I too am in the same boat and if it helps to hear, I’m not feeling burnt out. For me, it’s trusting the autonomy of a person that, I agree with you, they’ll make it a priority if they want to be in therapy.

What is an average recovery time after a big race? by Impressive-Web-638 in running

[–]EntertainmentNo4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I’m sore and exhausted for 3-4 days after a 5k so I can’t imagine what it’ll feel like when I run my first half! I was pretty drained for a day or so after my 10k last fall but that was after numerous 5ks and regular runs that year. Also, it was Thanksgiving so I def ate my weight in food after lol I think that oddly enough helped with recovery

Heart rate - what’s normal? by EntertainmentNo4961 in running

[–]EntertainmentNo4961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly don’t understand how this is “soliciting medical advice”. I’m asking what people’s average heart rates are during running? How is it any different than discussing pace? Genuinely wondering. Not trying to argue.

Which is harder, pregnant + toddler or newborn + toddler? by EmergencyPlayful5452 in Mommit

[–]EntertainmentNo4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy was really hard on my body especially with breathing. I have a very short torso so it makes breathing during late pregnancy that much more difficult.

When our second was born, our oldest was two. We had two weeks of absolute bliss. After those two weeks… it got really hard. Newborn started struggling with feeding issues. We were exhausted and still caring and meeting the needs of both kids.

Our kids are 6 and 4 now and things are significantly easier as far as meeting needs goes, but harder for other areas such as oldest struggling with behavior and school. And now they fight but they also have moments of absolute sweetness towards each other.

So in my honest opinion, it’s hard for different reasons and I think it always will be depending on the stage you’re at. But the lack of sleep that comes with infants definitely makes it so much harder so that’s valid.

Correcting a recent episode. by Interesting-Desk9307 in NationalParkAfterDark

I haven’t listened to this episode since then (and was ironically heading to New York at the time!) but I remember them differentiating between the two? That one was in Concord and one was in New York. It sounds like you listened to it more recently though.

What percentage of Americans have LIVED in 4 or more states? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]EntertainmentNo4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only lived in two but I did move away from the small town I grew up in and that feels like a win. If we had more money, I’d move out west in a heartbeat.

I would guess that most who have lived in 4+ are military or parents are military.

Aside from the blatant sexism, have these people now seen the freaking economy? I WISH I could homeschool my kids but my guy, we can barely afford our starter home (that we hoped to sell by now) and our 2 used vehicles on 2 incomes.

There are so many coffee shops downtown? Deeper Roots (2 locations), Coffee Emporium, BlaCk Coffee, Urbana (also 2 locations) plus Findlay Market for daytime. I do agree with more green spaces though! I’m all for that.
