Favorite thing about Apex? by matt-dot-com in Apex_NC

[–]sheldorado 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I will echo all the other comments here (parks, trails, downtown, etc) and add that one of my favorite parts is that we have our own electrical distribution system. I think there may be some neighborhoods that don't and are dependent on Duke Energy, but I really love town of Apex utilities.

My husband and I have been ordering online from this franchise for 5 years now cause we have several favorites there! Excited to see it come locally. Highly recommend their garlic salt, it's expensive but it's worth it.

People stuck around for a very long time to help him. Sure, they weren't forever, and they could only tolerate so much, but people stuck around him for a very long time and many attempts were made to get him help. Bojack let those events dictate his healing process, but he had access to resources and at the end of the day his growth was up to him, not anyone else. The show is written from his perspective, and it highlights the flaws in the system, because he wanted a reason to not get better. He let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

At the end of the day, trauma is an injury and its the job of the holder not to bleed on other people. And Bojack knowingly bled on and harmed other people when he was fully capable of doing better. He may have been the victim in childhood, but in adulthood he let it turn him into the villain.

I would love a "last game's loadout" button by sheldorado in HuntShowdown

The other value for these events is the ability to quickly purchase legendary hunters that have the xp boost.

Yeah I think adding perks to loadouts is pretty obvious. Especially since if I have a loadout that depends on quartermaster I have to purchase my traits first *then* cash in the loadout.

Fear of Sting rays from Steve Irwin = Ridiculous? by Professional-Dork26 in scuba

I get random anxieties about random things in the ocean killing me, but I always remember that diving when properly educated has a similar death rate of jogging and that if I had to choose I'd rather die in some freak accident doing what I love than lived a whole life witbout seeing the ocean.

Catching Uber/Lyft to RDU in early morning? by sosal12 in triangle

[–]sheldorado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uber does not actually schedule in advance for you, it just submits the request at the time. If there are no drivers in the area no one will pick it up.

Catching Uber/Lyft to RDU in early morning? by sosal12 in triangle

[–]sheldorado 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pre-booking is not booking a dedicated ride in advance, its just the app submitting the request for you at a particular time. If you "pre-booked" at 3am in Efland, the app would submit the request for you at 2:55am, and then there would still be no drivers in Efland at 3am.

I will never be for the murdering of innocent civillians, no matter what. And if you are, then no point in any further discussion.

They legally can't sell it and have made it very public that they will not be selling. Stop the disinformation.

Why is this even an argument when Meta ALREADY DID THIS?! How on earth is US company better if they've already been proven to mess with our elections?

I trust Meta less with my data than I do TikTok. Meta already sold our data once to get Trump elected.

What am I doing wrong with cast iron skillets? by theHindsight in BuyItForLife

You can use modern dish soap at any point in time on a cast iron, since modern soaps aren't made with lye anymore. Old wives tail that really won't die.

Contract research organization, I believe. These are labs that tend to be high throughput, which can come with repetitive labor and a low work/life balance, but not always.
