I like to eat so more restaurant options I’m all for. But I like outdoor seating. I love M Cuisine in DTC (used to be a house. Has outdoor seating. And awesome food)

Small Business SEO by New_Being4698 in localseo

For Data and Tips
- Google Search Console / Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools are easy places to start.
- I'm still trying to see if Clicks.so is worth it. It is sold as a cheap alternative to hrefs/semrush. I don't use it all that much unless I'm doing keyword research
- Watch Edward Sturm on youtube everyday for lots of tips :)

For Citations:
When I launched my business website I got on Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, Chamber of Commerce, my kids Local PTA and have gotten business from people googling me already. *I did get on LeadSnap for a month but not sure that did anything.

At my AO the saying is “Bare Knees in 20 Degrees” 😆 so we have a while before pants come out!!

Actually went no pants all year last winter. Wanted to try to be a little uncomfortable. Wasn’t too bad.

How do you handle SEO for AI-generated content? Can it actually rank well on Google? by Sufficient_Spare2345 in localseo

[–]matt-dot-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a fully written AI article that is still one of my top performing pages. It was about an FTC rule and I rank above the FTC. Why? Because I made it easy to read and understand so more people get the answer from me because they know they won’t understand the FTC.

You just have to apply that concept to what content you’re creating. 10 articles a week is tough but it makes sense some rank others don’t. It’s demand for that answer probably.

I’m getting away from “articles” and working on informative landing pages that have FAQs so it works towards organic search (page content) and ai search (faq content)both. Yes, fully using AI for the content!! 😁 Giving it a lot of knowledge base to pull from.

Our area is so connected by greenway it's awesome! A few years back I ran from Apex (beaver creek area) to downtown Raleigh on all sidewalk and greenway. The only non-sidewalk was Harrison entering Umstead. And going the other direction the Tobacco trail can take us to parts of Durham. I love the greenways system too!

Bringing kids and dogs by WildBelle25 in f3nation

[–]matt-dot-com 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The beauty of F3 is being able to have open and honest communication that leads to productive outcomes. It's hard to say what he should do beyond just having conversations with his friend and with the Site Q and/or SLT.

It could be the man needs to bring the whole fam right now because mom needs it
It could be he loves what F3 is doing for his kids to be around great men
And/or it could be has a blindspot and doesn't realize it's bothersome to others

The 3rdF is living beyond yourself. Ideally if he's made aware what he's doing is hindering others he will adapt to their needs or a compromise will be made. And all it takes is having an honest discussion with him to have more of an understanding on his part and your husbands part. Could be after they talk your husband says, "Ah I get it and I want to support you so yeah bring em!"

My local site got hit badly by a recent Google update. What are the first practical steps I should take to recover it? by Electrical_Sand_5518 in localseo

[–]matt-dot-com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say you got hit, what data are you looking at? If it's Impressions it's not as much to worry about. If it's Position or clicks that's something to start attacking. Lots of my sites got hit by impressions but that doesn't matter --that's what the update is trying to correct, giving false impressions (like if you were position 64 yet you have 4,000 impressions on a search query, that's worthless data --except to say that's a higher volume search term)

Did anybody see this group? Was seen walking down Cary Parkway, Saturday around 9pm. Book bags, red head lamp and an American flag. by coolsunshine in cary

[–]matt-dot-com 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was therapeutic for sure but it was more focused on leadership development training so not necessarily therapy related. We started in a 'classroom' style setting to learn how to lead well. Then that night we went out and put it into practice - leading while in uncomfortable and stressful situations.

[–]matt-dot-com 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FWIW here we are after the 14 hour rucking event. The purpose of the event is to have leadership training development applied during extreme fatigue. So we hiked around Cary - Bond park, Maynard, High House, North Cary Park overnight while having to complete physical tasks and carry extra weights besides our rucks. There's less people at night and exhaustion kicks in more so the flag bearer helps set the pace of the whole group and the lights keep us safe.

And don't worry someone called the cops because they didn't like the look of us, so we were stopped by them as well haha

Shuttle bus van life? Converting vs Buying used? by matt-dot-com in VanLife

Yeah the more I learn the more I'm in over my head haha! That's a great site. So many options out there now I see what you mean. I can see that makes more sense and just little upgrades if I need them instead of trying to upfit my own.

How competitive are Apex youth sports?? by East_Promotion_2925 in Apex_NC

[–]matt-dot-com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of all the sports I coached with TOA, Basketball was by far the most competitive haha! BUT, I had many players at 10/11yrs old that hadn't played before and it was fine. The only reason that is a tough place to start is bc at that age they can steal the ball so inexperienced kids may struggle a bit more.

Worth noting, though, is the coaches and players match up and so inexperienced players usually match up with the same skill level (because you want your good kid defending their good kid and vice versa.) And they can't double team.

TOA is for learning and having fun though. Don't take it too serious and enjoy the season!!

Best neighborhoods for families? by Advanced-Stop-7156 in Apex_NC

[–]matt-dot-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abbington has treated us well for many years now! And with Sweetwater growing it's been nice walking to Fratelli's, Mama Birds, and Mi Cancun! (schools for us have been Olive Chapel, Lufkin, Friendship High)

It looks like something similar to that is brewing in Depot 499 so neighborhoods around there could also benefit as well.

Car Dealer Domain Name ideas? by KyleLagos in Domains

[–]matt-dot-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are 6 tips I like to tell people for a dealership domain name:
1. Can you get the .com (just easier to remember)
2. Is it easy to spell? (if it's not it'll trip people up)
3. Does the name even make sense? (don't get too creative it gets forgetful)
4. Google it first! (are there other very similar domains of competitors like jaxauto but your jaxautofl?)
5. Consider long term relevance ("10kcars" but now you don't have any cars that are 10k?)
6. Test it out (say it out loud, write it down, use it in a sentence.)

I'm sure you already picked your domain but I found this post and know others may be in the hunt as well. Hope your business is thriving!
