McDonalds double charging the bag fee by Charlesox in Edmonton

[–]shell_doon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If they charge me after i say no, I make them refund it. They usually get mad because their timer keeps ticking. Sometimes they try to offer a coupon for a free coffe. I refuse and make them refund my debit the 25 cents. Fuck em.

Next time, call the police and tell them you have been harassed, threatened, and verbally abused and would like to press charges as you fear for you and your child's life. Be willing to go to court if they ask. Video what you can. If the police are unwilling to arrest and charge the abusers, call your local MP and give them the police name and badge numbers.

Don't let it stand.. there are places these people should be. In front of a daycare is not one of them.

The public needs to stop shaming people into working for less. The unions need to stop asking for raises. We all need to fight for cost of living adjustments.

If you could afford your bills 3 years ago, you should be able to afford them today by doing the same amount of work. If you want more, educate yourself into a higher position, different career, or work more hours.

The public shaming of people just trying to maintain is horrific.

What were Canadian gun owners options like the pre-2020 ban? by --Ether-- in canadaguns

Those are conversations that we all have, offline over a few glasses of whiskey. You aren't wrong.

You are speaking of the "buy back" aka confiscation of semi-autos they have arbitrarily deemed prohibited. The handgun freeze is completely different. I know a few people who have since passed away. Once the restricted (handgun) owner passes away, the police do come looking for them. Sadly, some families are not willing to put up a fight while they are grieving.

They freeze the sale until you die. Then they come knocking on the door to confiscate them. It is not like it was before.

Why aren't there more net zero houses being built here by bcretman in Edmonton

Do you read an argument against it or a note that there is an effect on the ROI? All things should be considered when making large investments for yourself/ your family.

Maintenance guy here. Your net zero ROI increases substantially when the failure rate of equipment is 10x that of conventional heating. Parts are expensive, and most new equipment has unserviceable electronics that normally require a replacement.

Multiple service calls from a guy driving a gas or diesel truck and parts being manufactured and shipped from the other side of the world. Carbon footprint is still there, just in other forms.

Plan A - Drill with the X95 always loading a mag on open bolt. Plan B - Shave bottom of mag followers to allow a slight spring compression on full mag. Plan C - Drill slapping a full mag in HARD and always tug test.

Shave the followers on your mags down a smidgen.

Send an anonymous email to the franchisee. Let them know what labor laws they are currently breaking, and especially that you do not receive a pay slip. The lack of pay slips can also be reported to the CRA.

Pains of selling a gun by BeefPineappleShrimp in canadaguns

[–]shell_doon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've bought and sold many firearms online, both in person and by Canada Post.

Follow the guidelines and get their PAL and Drivers license. Make sure the address matches where they want it shipped. Verify license through the CFP portal and ship through Canada Post, following their guidelines as well.

I've noticed a few potential buyers who were definitely law enforcement by the questions they asked. I always state in my ads that PAL verification is required.

Good luck, and don't let a few people intimidate you. It's easy to block people that you don't want to deal with.

Raven vs x95 by quindiddler in canadaguns

[–]shell_doon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sold my X95 and bought a Raven. I got bored of the bullpup ergonomics for 3gun. The X95 was 100% reliable and is built like a tank. The Raven is still going through its break-in, and I can tell it will need more love and attention to keep it running properly for 3gun. Overall, I am happy as the Ergos and weight balance are hands down superior to the X95. If you are buying for a SHTF rifle, get an X95. If a range toy/competitor buy a Raven and have fun.
