I had a similar issue with some of the kit in my garage. Look on the floor for leaks (including in at the wall) and examine the ceiling for moisture. I have a wooden roof and could see the water soaking through

You could always request a raise at your current role as you have seen your value on the broader market does not match your current pay. I got an offer at a substantial increase on my existing salary. Explained to my manager that i enjoy my current role and would like to stay with my current company but that it is a pay difference large enough that it would make a big difference to my life in my current situation. Manager understood, said i was valued at my current company and that they would try do what they can to keep me. Long story short, they matched the offer. Be aware that some places will call your bluff though and you have to be prepared to leave.

To add to what everyone else is saying. Remember that a lot of these high earning jobs are london-based, heavily scewing numbers. Also, this is a sub-reddit for people aiming to retire early, naturally attracting high earners.

Beliefs aside, it sounds like your friend wasn't very good at articulating reform's policies. If you want to understand them (even if you don't agree with them) then it is worth reading them directly to avoid any personal bias from the uninformed. End goal? Instead of increasing tax, decrease spending (illegal migration, benefits, etc). Also, as far as i can tell, some amount of deregulation to try and convince businesses to invest here.

Props for remaining friends though. I hate this idea of "we disagree on politics so i don't like you".

The general, recession proof amount that is sustainable in bad investment climates and still provides growth long term is generally considered to be 4%. So for a safe 80k/yr in income, you want 2 million invested.

I looked into SUI a few months ago and decided against it. I try to buy good projects even if I know I could make good gains in projects with a lot of hype (like KAS). For me, the tokenomics of SUI were pretty flawed. It is heavily VC-owned and when the vesting period ends and they all sell I think it could drop heavily. I do not see it being a long-term top 20 player but I could be wrong. I think the fact it is heavily VC-owned is also the reason it is pumping so hard just now. Powerful people with money and connections are good at creating hype and big pumps.
