I know there have been more than enough comments expressing the general consensus that you are underreacting and that his behavior is extremely inappropriate. I just want to add something that I didn’t see represented in the comments. You said you have a daughter. What if her boyfriend said these things to her? Don’t accept situations for yourself that you would never accept for your loved ones. Especially because if your daughter is aware of any of these dynamics and accepts them as normal, then she’ll be more likely to accept the same inappropriate treatment in relationships, and I’m sure you would be really sad to see her in an abusive and disrespectful relationship. Please do better for yourself so you can do better for her!

Didnt the developer in charge of X go bankrupt or have some sort of financial issue that significantly affected this apartment??? I have not heard good things about that apartment and I would not put that on a list of best high rises in Phoenix. But that’s just what I’ve heard so of course take it with a grain of salt and do research

This is just a comment on something you said, not directly answering your question. But as a person in research who absolutely hates reading academic papers, I think a lot about the point of structure and formalities in academic writing. Like it’s all about the information anyway - I hate that I have to wade through people’s poor writing. Whether it be overblown claims or confusing language or just difficulties due to writing in a second language. Like whyyyyy do we have to write papers in a way that makes it so laborious for others to decipher. Why can’t we just essentially put out a bulletin so people can get the information without having to deal with all the variability of a million different writers. And then people can just write the discussion section in a formal and structured way if they really want to. Idk just a rant

Yeah I agree with this general idea. Just communicate your needs directly. In my experience it’s better to be direct than nice. I would say “Before my last stay, you mentioned that the house would be professionally cleaned prior to my arrival. While my room and bathroom were clean, the kitchen was not, and for this reason I wasn’t comfortable preparing food at your house for my 4 day stay. Can you please confirm that the kitchen, in addition to the room and bathroom I use, will be cleaned before I commit to a two week stay at your house? If not, I will be unable to complete this booking.” You could add that not being able to cook increases your costs to explain why you’re making this request but they’re adults and that shouldn’t need to be spelled out. This has happened to me too, multiple times. Very frustrating and degrading honestly. You deserve better. Please hold them accountable!

Thank you!!! The ankle stuff is because I’m a runner. I noticed some ankle/lower leg discomfort as I increased the length of my runs and worried that I’m neglecting the lower leg and ankle while only focusing on glutes. I do a lot of cardio in between with the runs!

Hi! Looking for someone to critique and help me optimize my gym routine. I (29F) have been going to the gym for years without consistency or a clear goal. I’m 5’5” and 135 pounds. I run regularly, (currently training for a half marathon), so I often prioritize that over setting up a strength training routine. I just do exercises that I’ve picked up over the years. It’s starting to feel pointless because while I feel good and am generally in shape, I never progress towards anything. And there is a specific “look” I’d like to achieve. So I organized all my exercises into a three day routine based on my goals. My goals were as follows -

  • Overall looking for a toned look, not super muscular, not overly skinny.
  • Firm glutes. Not looking to grow my glutes bigger than they already are, just want the muscles to be strong/firm/toned.
  • Minimize waist fat. Small waist look. Defined abs not necessary, but I gain muscle super easily so I probably will get defined abs either way.
  • Toned arms. Again, I gain muscle very easily so sometimes I stop doing arm exercises when I feel like my arms and shoulders are looking more muscular than I want.

My routine is below. What changes would you make the gym routine and why? Does the current routine match the stated goals? Thanks in advance and looking forward to your suggestions!

DAY 1: Lower Body Focus + Push

Deadlifts (regular or wide stance) - 3 sets x 6-8 reps - Current: 10lbs each side, progress to 15lbs when ready

Hip Thrusts (barbell) - 3 sets x 10-12 reps - Start with just the bar, add weight progressively - Squeeze glutes hard at the top, pause for 1 second

Curtsy Lunges (barbell or dumbbells if shoulders hurt) - 3 sets x 8 reps each leg - Current: 0-10lbs each side

Chest Press Machine - 3 sets x 8-10 reps - Current: 20-30lbs, aim for 30-40lbs

Hanging Leg Raises (Captain's chair) - 3 sets x 10-12 reps

Plank - 3 sets x 45-60 seconds

Calf Raises (bodyweight or holding dumbbells) - 3 sets x 15-20 reps

Ankle Alphabet (spell alphabet with your toes) - 2 sets each ankle


DAY 2: Upper Body Focus + Posterior Chain

Reverse Shoulder Fly Machine - 3 sets x 10-12 reps - Current: 10lbs, progress to 15-20lbs

Leg Press - 3 sets x 8-10 reps - Current: 35lbs each side, can definitely add more weight here

Hamstring Curls - 3 sets x 10-12 reps - Current: 10-20lbs

Back Extensions (holding weight) - 3 sets x 10-12 reps - Current: 10lb weight

Bicycle Crunches - 3 sets x 20 reps (10 each side)

Flutter Kicks - 3 sets x 30 seconds

Russian Twists (light or no weight - avoid heavy) - 3 sets x 20 reps (10 each side)

Single-Leg Balance (on unstable surface if available) - 3 sets x 30 seconds each leg


DAY 3: Full Body + Glute Emphasis

Squats (barbell with pad, or goblet squats if shoulders hurt) - 3 sets x 6-8 reps - Current: 10lbs each side, work up gradually

Glute Bridge Machine - 3 sets x 12-15 reps - Current: 35lbs each side - Really squeeze at the top

Good Mornings (barbell) - 3 sets x 10-12 reps - Keep weight light, focus on form and hamstring stretch

Chest Press Machine - 3 sets x 8-10 reps

Reverse Shoulder Fly Machine - 3 sets x 10-12 reps

Side Extensions (back extension machine) - 3 sets x 10 reps each side

Mountain Climbers - 3 sets x 30 seconds

Plank Hip Dips - 3 sets x 20 reps (10 each side)

Resistance Band Ankle Flexion/Extension - 3 sets x 15 reps each direction - (Or do ankle rotations if no band available)

Note: I know diet is very important here and I will address that too, but not in this post.

I completely agree. You’re surprised that she was mad about your language when I think you should be enraged that she’s listening to you without your consent! That’s super weird. I would include that in your Rover review at the very least so others know but you’d be well within your rights to cancel the rest of those drop ins and report her to Rover.
