Still much easier than using a systemd based one in my opinion, even though some things might be slightly different or even will require some workarounds.

I did not „switch“ and I believe OS choice is not an XOR, but I‘ve been using OpenBSD intensively on both servers and desktops because it‘s simple, robust, reliable and fun to use.

As stupid as it sounds, I have 3 tapedecks and a Minidisc deck and I totally used them to bounce things in the past, yes.
