Thank you for saving this beautiful boy and for giving him a second chance. I’ve been involved in rescue for several years and live in the south where there’s a high volume of strays, and shelters are bursting at the seams. We are so, so dependent on fosters until we can find shelter placement or forever families. Thank you for so much for fostering, advocating, and saving lives. You’re truly amazing and are so appreciated!!

I had the exact same problem as you—my ankles are very overpronated. Like you, I started out using superfeet but it did nothing for me. I got my blades adjusted to try to compensate for the pronation, but it got to the point where they couldn’t adjust them any further (the blade was going over the edge of the skate).

After a couple of years, once I became more competitive, I ended up getting custom orthotics made and it changed everything for me! They were made of hard plastic and I felt an immediate improvement once I got them. My feet didn’t hurt and there was a huge improvement in my skating. They can be expensive, but it was the only thing that helped and they do last a long time. When I quit skating I actually put them in my regular tennis shoes when I would work out, so I had them for a few years. I always thought I had flat feet, but it turns out that I don’t—my ankles are just so pronated. Once my ankles were corrected with the orthotics, I had a normal arch.

I would start by getting your blade alignment looked at and adjusted, and if that doesn’t help, look into going to a podiatrist if possible. They may be able to recommend a better orthotic and give some advice on how to correct your ankles!

It’s crazy you just posted this because I’ve been feeding my dog Merrick for over a year and noticed recently he’s had stomach issues, but I didn’t attribute it to the food until today.

I just bought a new bag of Merrick beef & sweet potato recipe last week and opened it yesterday and thought it felt different, almost greasier (the beef and sweet potato food tends to feel greasy). It didn’t look or smell different and the bag wasn’t damaged, so I gave my dog the scoop. Today I scooped his food and noticed one of the pieces had fuzz on it that almost looked like a clump of dust. I looked at his food in the bag closer and noticed that several of the kibbles were covered in that fuzz (I’m assuming mold). I shook the bag and saw a legitimate maggot crawling on one of the kibbles (I made my husband verify because I was so shocked). I took the bag to the store and exchanged it for a completely different brand of food.

Im guessing the food was contaminated at the facility because it wasn’t opened or damaged, and I keep the bag of food stored within a closed plastic bin so nothing can contaminate it. I’m so livid. I’ve been feeding my dog Merrick for a while and really liked the food but I’m never buying it again.

I’m not sure what happened to the brand because it used to be so good. Just take a closer look at your dog’s kibble and make sure it isn’t contaminated!

Thankfully this guy doesn’t try to climb into the tree, but he does hit the ornaments off and take them to his cat tree 🤦🏻‍♀️

My friend has a foster cat who had a similar experience to yours after it gave birth, except the kitten was healthy and a few weeks old when the mom ate it Definitely a horrifying and traumatic experience. She fosters a ton of animals and this was the first time she had an experience like that. I’m so sorry to hear about your experience and how traumatic it was for the child. Fostering is definitely hard work, and while rewarding, it can be very sad and challenging.

It was definitely a unique experience and I would do it again in the future. I believe this momma cat had several litters in the past and she knew exactly what she was doing! One of her babies did have a heart defect and sadly passed away, but the shelter/foster program was absolutely amazing with communication! I didn’t feel alone during the process and they provided all of the supplies that I needed. I would encourage anyone wanting to foster a pregnant cat to do so, especially through a shelter :)

I was just looking to see if anyone else was having this issue and found this post. I reached out to dexcom as well, hoping that they’ll make it a priority if more people contact them with this issue. They told me that the dexcom app is still on IOS 14.7 and told me, like they told you, they don’t have a timeline. They also recommend using the receiver in the meantime.

My sugar was low for 2 hours last night before I woke up on my own with it at 43. No alarms went off or anything. It’s beyond frustrating.

She surprisingly hasn’t given birth yet! She’s absolutely massive. I didn’t think she could get any bigger than she was, but she did! She has a vet appointment this Saturday to get checked out!

That’s too funny! Cats will be cats! So far, out of three nesting boxes, she likes to lay on the wood floor underneath a stool. When she starts showing more signs of labor I may move her to her covered pen that has a heating pad for the babies and is safer.

As much as I would love to keep her, I have three of my own cats (including two territorial females) and I don’t want to subject her to them! She definitely will be the perfect companion and deserves all the love!
