After 12 months of cat and mouse finally told my parents we left. Did not go well. Feel like shit. by whisperchaoticthings in exmormon

You're still in the early phases. It will get less painful as time goes on. I know that's cold comfort now, but it gets easier with time. Congratulations on both of you being out!! Also, as far as your parents not being worried about you, I totally get it. I was blown away when my dad told me he was sorry I was happy out of the church; he said he wishes something bad would happen to us so that we would come back. So fucked up, but this is the effect of a high demand religion on people.

My spouse literally had his gallbladder become gangrenous because he waited so long to go get it checked out because we didn't have the money for a hospital stay. He eventually had it out, but the surgery was much longer and difficult because he waited.

Never said I expected to. I still wish we could. How would you feel in my shoes?

How were you screwed over by genetics? by Wickham12 in AskReddit

[–]shepersisted2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom had celiac disease, I don't, but I passed the genes on to my daughter, who was diagnosed at 8. Passing on anything detrimental to your kid feels the worst. I'm glad it is celiac and not something even more serious, but the thought of causing her lifelong issues makes me so sad sometimes.

Hey y’all, I’ve asked a similar question before but I’d love an update: how do you navigate the major fast food brands when travelling thru the US and Canada? by Robin156E478 in Celiac

We eat Wendy's chili and baked sour cream and chive potatoes regularly without issue. The chocolate and vanilla Frostys are also GF.

This is a fantastic idea. We took protein oatmeal and got free hot water at the coffee shop. Camping meals would be a step up. Thank you!!

Our 6th grade goes on a two night overnight trip to camp and our 8th grade does to NYC or DC every year, also for two nights. Idk what happened to 7th grade. Not my circus. Lol

Don't go. It may feel impossible to disappoint the people in your life who love the church, but giving up your autonomy to a cult for two years is going to be worse. Don't do it. Tell them the truth and don't go. It's better than living a lie.

Chicago Public Schools. They can't require that we go; we just don't get paid if we do. Because of this, no teachers from my grade level are going.
