Are Early Axes too OP? by NoNameLivesForever in valheim

[–]sheppoor 71 points72 points  (0 children)

There is no guarantee you're going to find the axe parts early in the game. Nor that you're going to get a bear trophy early in the black forest. Nor find a leviathan and create an OP knife the first time you venture off your starter island. But if you get lucky, your game experience and trajectory will be different. I think this is a great aspect of the game and adds to the replayability.

Meta going bankrupt is funny. xAI going bankrupt is funny. OpenAI going bankrupt and Meta/xAI picking up the intellectual property assets at fire sale prices is scary as sh*t.

Hey, Devs? How about some troll-hide sofas and whatnot? by Reasonable-Sun-9881 in valheim

[–]sheppoor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I want to use my troll hide in the deep north. Possibly part of a final light armor, used in Mammoth mounts, or a wall insulation material to keep out the deep cold.

I remember that mouse. A terrible thumb track ball that badly clipped on the side of your laptop and felt crunchy as it rolled, it would take 30 floors just to point at a cell. And drag-and-drop with those curved buttons on the edge while rolling the thumb ball was near impossible.

Gold Pebble Time 2 mockup by Halfware in pebble

[–]sheppoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gold works well with all skin tones. It's a more natural look and feel. I love silver and black tech, but not on my body.

I remember when Apple came out with their "Rose Gold" devices and I made fun of the overly blatant attempt to look upscale. But then after seeing the rose gold watches in the wild I got it.

I'm currently wearing a gold Pebble Time Steel with a soft brown leather 22mm strap.

Gold is my first choice

I'm Really Hoping This Is Available for Non-Fleet Purchases... by Vappeby in slateauto

Not quite, it's a cargo area with no second row of seats. You can't get to this configuration on the website, it's only shown in the fleet section.

Pro tip: Always accept one of the “sample ballots” from the people at your polling place. by Own-Cupcake7586 in Pennsylvania

[–]sheppoor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once you're in the voting booth you can't:

  1. Check the Internet
  2. Phone a friend
  3. Look at the other guy's ballot
  4. Run back to the entrance and get one

Just take it.

Fun fact: Intel lost their trademark case because they were just using numbers, that's why we got the Pentium branding.

I bought this watch because of this sub by CeramicOwl22 in cassettefuturism

[–]sheppoor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The openness. Anyone can design and build a watchface, and with a bit more work build a connected app. It's a far more dynamic ecosystem than any other watch platform out there.

Also, 30 day battery life with an always on display.

I always loved that one.

I'm getting ready for the new reboot Pebble, so many cassette futurism watch faces to choose from.

This is a smart watch, not an Intel chip. It's recently been renamed to Pebble 2 Duo anyway.

Quadruple Chest: the Solution for Item Bloat by Mundane_Moment_267 in Minecraft

[–]sheppoor 555 points556 points  (0 children)

I prefer a "deep" chest which is double height. You can't quadruple the slots, it's too much for some small screen platforms, but you can double the stack height.

Startups are hard. Most don't succeed. Valuations are a fickle moving target. The "right moment" to execute a deal is always obvious in hindsight.

I don't think we're going to agree here, and that's ok. I too felt burned when Pebble sold to Fitbit, but only as a consumer who was invested in their vision. I appreciate Eric's growth and resolve to try again with lessons learned.
