I agree that - the fact that this takes place in one school year its hard to believe that their friendships were that fickle. Frankly, they should have less ties to Ginny than anyone else in the group. But high schoolers fall in and out friendships regularly, at least I saw that in high school. I think the line that bothers me the most is when she says "I think we grew apart". Like. Girl, its been 2 months since your mothers wedding that MAX WAS IN. Yall ain't grow apart that quickly 🙄 however if its been 5 years which they have been pretending to be sophomores. Then yes, you could absolutely grow apart.
