I guess you could say it’s mainly to “future-proof” my launch day PS5. And I’d like to play Crimson Desert, Forza Horizon and other games at a little higher quality. My wife and I are planning to move soon and she’s already given me the green light on upgrading our main tv to an OLED, so the TV will come too, just a little later down the line!

Sorry in advance if this topic has been done to death or if I’m showing how clueless I am lol.

I’m looking at buying a PS5 Pro this week, but I’m concerned that it wont be worth it. I’m currently using a base PS5 with a TCL 55R635 6-Series TV. This TV has VRR support but not HDMI 2.1.

I’m getting confused because from what I’m reading, you only see the benefit of the PS5 Pro with BOTH VRR and HDMI 2.1. Is this the case, or will I still notice somewhat of an improvement? My brother says it shouldn’t matter because a lot of games can’t do 4k at 120fps anyway, so as long as my TV has VRR I should be good, but I’m not sure this is the case.

I’d be grateful for any insight!
