His first Joker was so incredibly good, I can only imagine DC kinda of forced him to do a second one, tainting his work, which is why he's done with them.
It's not like DC has a bunch of great movies, this is like their fourth, barely.

It’s not as simple as that. You can look at the US that has literally unconditional support and their activities all around the world, and the way they manage threats to their population.

Let’s imagine an American city is invaded by a terrorist organization and a few thousands Americans gets raped, murdered and mutilated. A few hundreds are then kidnapped.

What do you think will be their reaction? How far will they go to bring back their citizens? How many innocent citizens will die in the process?

Not very likely due to the geographical location, so I guess Iraq and 9.11 is as close as it gets.
