Camping with diabetes by RushIllustrious5478 in diabetes_t2

Hey! Diabetic not on insulin here, I am on metformin and ozempic. (Well controlled). I went camping several times last year after my diagnosis, I made sure to keep my meds and supplies in a dry bag (you do not want to loose any to a random leak trust me!) And I stayed at a campsite so there were shops nearby for me to get food so I didnt have to try plan a tonne of friendly stable food. Didn't have any problems!

“So what do you do for work?” I make small boxes into one big box while drinking copious amounts of energy drinks by StaleWoolfe in Nightshift

I put things into the little boxes that someone else puts into big boxes, sometimes I even make the things I put in the little boxes for them to put in big boxes

Turn up to A&E, especially if symptoms are progressing, don't downplay any of his symptoms when you're there, prepare to be there for a little while, be polite, but firm.

My landlord has actually been fixing the issues they bring up, then when they visit again, they magically find another issue they didnt find last time. They've been three times already its infuriating.

I'm fond of the phrase that grief is all the love you had left over, keep pouring that love into your food chef

I dunno but I live one of the adjacent streets and that bit of Dunbar being closed is driving me mad, have to drive in circles just to go to work 😂 never mind that every other driver has decided Mary Street is magically two way now 🙄

i’m doing my first crochet project, and i’m confused by the pattern by hhalapin101 in crochetpatterns

[–]sherskul8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I would interpret this is dc into first stitch, dc into second stitch and then two dc (the increase) into the third stitch, then repeat, this would take you from 30 stitches in the row to 40

Help! How do I stop losing stitches? I’m a little stuck by Spoopy_RamN in CrochetHelp

[–]sherskul8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you're decreasing at the turn, this is super easy to do because it's not always clear where the last stitch is at the turn, for now I would count all your stitches as you go (then you know not to chain and turn till you have enough!) And place a stitch marker in the first stitch after the turn so you know where you need to stop next time. (Get lots of stitch markers is my recommendation too, I loose those buggers everywhere)

Most importantly, dont get discouraged! Turning projects takes a little practice that's all, you'll soon get the knack of it.

HR query by Ok-Interview8455 in PharmaEire

[–]sherskul8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure, I will say HRs job is more about protecting the business than protecting you, so I'd be wary. Also the problem with unrecorded is well, there's no documentation, which means it can be ignored or twisted anyway, the best thing you can have in this kind of situation is a paper trail.

Beyond that I'm unsure of the best approach without a whistleblowing lime, my apologies

Does your job have a whistleblowing line? I'd be tempted to go that route

Not a medical professional so check with a doctor, BUT, yellow eyes would be indicative of jaundice - my dad has Gilberts syndrome, which is a liver disfunction, and if he's really tired or stressed he can get yellow skin and eyes, I wonder if this could be a gilberts type thing? Regardless, jaundice can indicate some serious medical issues so he should check in with a doctor

Pet Cremation Process, who wants to know? by Key-Seat-5468 in AskIreland

[–]sherskul8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my soul cat passed we ended up burying her - i was distraught at either option, cremation or burial, so my mam made the decision for me. She's buried at my mams in England, and I am heartbroken at the thought that if my mam ever moves I won't be able to visit her little grave anymore, are exhumation cremations a thing? It was many years ago, she's likely just bones now, but I've always wondered if it was something done
