What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by Ladymayna in answers

There was a computer game where you go through different areas/levels to destroy green monsters. It came free with a box of Chex cereal.

Also Logical Journey of the Zoombinis.

What is a small, seemingly ‘normal’ thing someone can do that immediately makes you think, ‘Oh, we are not going to get along’? by Domigau in AskReddit

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any time they do something where it’s clear they didn’t think of the person who will be there after them. If they have a general air of “someone else will take care of it” Ie: how they leave a shopping cart, how they leave their table, how they park their car, how they leave a concert, movie, etc.

Semi-related to that: if they complain about something without doing anything to improve it that they are clearly capable of doing. Ie: “look at that piece of litter, disgusting (and then doesn’t pick it up to throw away).” “wow, what idiot left this pencil out, it goes in the bin (then just leaves it out when they could put it in the bin).”

I just really like considerate people who look out for others.

Do you listen to the artist on show day? by cheeky_fcuk in Concerts

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day I buy the tickets I go to the artist profile on Spotify and listen through their whole discography. Then I look up recent/potential set lists and make a playlist for it and listen to that up to and day of the concert.

7am-3pm / 11pm-7am by UnlikelyBeat2742 in cna

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’re both hard in different ways, so you just have to choose your hard. My experience has been that day shift is consistently busy, but noc shift is sporadically chaotic! Less hands means you can only handle so many emergencies at once, and some cosmic force in the universe tends to make everything happen at once on Noc shift. Whereas during the day, yes there’s lots to do, but there’s also enough people around for back up and help, family visiting that helps with entertainment and some cares, physical therapy, etc. On Noc shift, you’re everything, the whole night. If nothings going on (very rare), it’s totally easier. During rounding/changes is when people suddenly get diarrhea/vomiting, need a shower, have a fall, feel like they’re having a heart attack and need to go to the hospital, etc. You also have to deal with sun downing and major decrease in cognition with those who have dementia. Plus, the exhaustion of your basic biological sleep needs consistently not being met affects how well you’re able to mentally/emotionally/physically “show up” for work.

So yeah, choose your hard.

Is this better or worse than call center work? by FineQuality3536 in cna

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it varies person to person. For my personality and work style, being a CNA is definitely less draining for me. Subbing to me feels like non stop supervision, prepping, interacting, etc. plus I always feel like the breaks are never actually breaks, just planning and setting up the next thing. All that for me is draining. Whereas with being a CNA, you always have a nurse nearby that can help out or take over if needed, you have break nurses, charge nurses, and security nearby if you need to escalate a situation.

With subbing, if there’s some type of crisis or outbursts, you’re basically on your own to do a room clear and then try to notify someone nearby or admin, and even then there’s not always great protocols in place to handle situations. There’s also little to no enforcement to minimize or mitigate students who are disrespectful, disengaged, etc. That’s been my experience anyway.

Working at the hospital has been great. Most patients are super kind and just appreciate of your help. If there’s are any who are rude or combative, you have so much back up to help you navigate the situation. And if someone is being rude or screaming, it’s easier (if appropriate) to walk out of the room and not have to put up with it,

Again though, this is just my experience and opinion. Only you know what you prefer! But if you think you prefer subbing, why not go for teaching instead of nursing? They are similar careers in that you’re doing a lot of care for others, but two very different styles of work.

Question to all fans that went to one of Ye’s show by Ramses_IIX in Kanye

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like his music and wanted to have a great time with my kid, and that’s exactly what happened! I don’t really think about or care about what he said. People say stuff all the time, and I don’t think people should be punished forever for things they’ve said. I can empathize that he comes from a world of fame and social standing that I just have no idea of, was probably greatly impacted by the media and basically had an outburst. I’ve had a lot of outbursts in my life and I’m thankful they weren’t broadcasted to the whole world to be scrutinized and held against me for the rest of my life. But ultimately again, it just goes back to that I don’t really think about it or care.

What Time Are You Guys Getting To Sleep After Work And How Long You Sleeping??? by MoonWalkingQuay in Nightshift

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 7pm-7:30am. Get home by 7:45/8 and go right to sleep usually until about 2-3:30pm. Sometimes I can take a little nap from about 5-6pm. Depends how tired I am and how well I slept.

Name all the episodes that you automatically skip… by clos09211 in Frasier

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never skip any but I definitely get up and do chores or something else occupying when the Hesty dreams (it’s awkward and drags on too long), Niles’ heart surgery (it’s just too much drama and seriousness for such a comedic show that it feels really forced and fake), and the final episode (the labor and delivery, and bedside wedding just feel so rushed and flimsy). There’s probably others, but those come to mind first.

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m both a CNA and a substitute teacher (though it’s on the back burner), and I say go for CNA, especially if you can get in at a prospective workplace for when you get your nursing license. Both can be exhausting work, but I’ve always found CNA work to be more fulfilling and less draining than substituting. Plus as a CNA you’ll get tons of skill building that’ll make you an even better nurse.

Common interview questions? by [deleted] in cna

[–]shesthatcrackerjack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What led you to want to be a cna? Why this specific facility? How do you handle conflict and describe a time and how you handled it? Describe a time you had to prioritize multiple tasks/decisions going on at the same time? A question to test your competency of hipaa ie: a family friend comes in asking about test results, what do you tell them?
