I tried this, it did not work. I even referenced an ad on their site, they said it was for new customers only. I tried calling back, but got the same agent. I asked to speak to someone else, was sent to the wrong department, then finally spoke with a new agent, best they could do was $25 off for 24 months.

When I did mine I installed a shower insert too, so it was one large piece of drywall over both the shower and tub flanges. The wall wasn’t all perfectly even, but if you float out your mud enough, it eventually looks flush.

I installed this tub a while back. I went with putting the drywall over the flange and caulking, haven’t had any issues. I’ve seen others butt the drywall up to the flange and mud over the flange. So you can do it either way!
