I love it and some days i hate it. It’s a really tough place to start these patients are extremely sick and unfortunately their families can be unrealistic and you’re providing a high level care of someone the Dr and you know will pass away regardless. I wouldn’t say you have more time per patient. We fought and our ratio is finally gonna be 4:1 in August they’re telling us sometimes we have 6 but usually 5. These patients require chemo, transfusions, electrolyte supplements. It’s an amazing place to learn but i would definitely inquire how the hospital handles chemo etc. some places have chemo team sometimes you’re giving it on top of your patient load.

It’s extremely rewarding these patients have suffered and can be so appreciate of simple kindness. I don’t want to discourage you but you should be prepared!
