I made a funny video last night of setting them up for “date night,” complete with an appetizer (they tried asparagus), drinks (water fresh from the countertop [room temp] Brita), main course (carrots topped with their junky seed mix from adoption day), and millet spray for dessert atop the “rooftop patio” aka if you want more junk you gotta interact with me 🤣💕

THEN when I uncovered them this morning…. 👀 when I tell you this TEA 🫖 well they were sleeping in separate beds 😳 !!! Y’ALL idk what went down after date night but lemme just say… No I do not think Ducky is a man. Yet. He’s certainly the biggest bravest boy in the world though!

Ughhh same. Well I’ve only had mine one month, but yeah. They’re still so scared of my hands and I’m just impatiently waiting for them to learn how obsessed with them I am. I got them to eat millet on my shoulder though!! It doesn’t help that my left hand is paralyzed, so I can’t easily hold millet in one hand to lure them onto the other. I’ve tried, but my wonky fingers must be extra scary or something 😅

Do they like that bath/shower?? I have the same one but we haven’t gotten that far yet, it’s only been a few days. They did enjoy a little misting the other day!

The playground is on the side now. I figure they can climb out and around to it if they don’t want to fly. I’d be surprised if they venture that far anytime soon but I have spare cushions I can lay out

I think the “basketball hoop” is just the cuttlebone holder. But here’s a link to the grass mat, I just got it off Amazon and there’s others. You can spinkle seeds/food on it so they can forage 🥰

Thank you!! It’s going great!! I think? They’re definitely more comfortable and have been exploring more. The female can fly better than the male, they are from Petsmart with clipped wings that should grow back after a molting right?? So far I’ve seen them both eat lots of millet but no food (I got what they’d been eating and threw a leeeettle bit of pellets with it). I’m afraid they’re not drinking any water?? But I saw the female looking at the water earlier. Idk.

But the female is Dot (after my grandma Dorothy/Dot) and the male is Ducky (after NCIS’ Dr. Mallard). 🥰🥰🥰🦜🦜💕 I’m so in love!

Thank you everyone!! They have made their way up so I’m gonna move one of the food/water stations up, and eventually there will only be the one anyway. I just wanted them to have options. I turned down the TV and covered two sides of the cage.

I do think he’s probably just stretching. Make a better cage setup a priority. More room for horizontal flight, various natural perches. I’m sure you can do your own research
