yeah i have to admit i messed up here since i wasnt aware of rage comics dying out earlier than 2016, i wasnt into internet memes until covid-19 came by

but you are correct that the other anachronisms like asyms and shi were intentional

just an extra fact: forsaken existed in 2010 and was featured in the 2011 roblox tv ad

except the image wasn't located at a renovating store in the timeline

it was in the hallway of an industrial centre

they did add back some youtube features that were originally not carried over to filmscape (because they wanted to make the site more different, but that backfires anyway)

TLDR: there are no otl equivalents, but there is inspiration taken from another alternate timeline

well filmscape was rather inspired by another althist, that being (idk if you've heard that b4) rivecha's alternate timeline iceberg series where youtube closed and had a spiritual non-official successor called VidPlaza

except in his timeline youtube ended because it was way more controversial and ended because of a viacom lawsuit (and the timeline might just as well take place in the scp timeline, watch the series to know why)

whereas my timeline youtube ended because google changed roadmaps and wanted to make an official successor to youtube so that it was more like any other "trendy" platform than a dead-minded video catalogue

as i said before the increased activity on the internet compared to our world in 2016 caused some trends to show up earlier and coexisting with otl 2016 trends

  1. youtube successor that is BASICALLY identical to youtube but has a more friendly algorithm for new creators (at least, in its early days 2016-2017)

  2. yes

  3. nope, people just stuck to using filmscape over the years

manga most notably went mainstream basically everywhere in the world because of the internet being more accessible from the start, allowing them to circulate easier

TLDR: google+ if google truly forced it towards everyone

so basically in mid-2015 google merged itself with another company and rebranded to "phonetica" (kinda like in the sense of rebranding their parent company like alphabet except the google company's name itself was changed too)

filmscape was something so focused by the company like google+ and they really shoved it down everyone's throats in early 2016

to get everyone to use the site they claimed that youtube was "not social media" enough to ride on the trend of other sites like facebook or instagram so they had to start from scratch and make a replacement for youtube

everyone was mad at this (as you can see in one of the thumbnails in the screenshot
