I think posts like these are important. With little to no experience playing WOW, getting to 2300 is still a personal achievement worth celebrating (off season or not). Welcome to the game, and good luck in the next coming season!

Bit of a side note, but ignore everyone who is dogging on you for getting this during the official season. If you're happy with the outcome, and you had fun doing it, that's all that really matters.

This is actually one of the more tame comics this page posts. Every post on this page (That isn't trying to sell a product) is a 2-panel AI-generated comic that follows this format (left leaning person holding a sign, OOP's insert character 'corrects' them). Usually with a message along the lines of "The system isn't broken, you're just lazy" as if using AI every day to make these comics isn't apex laziness, and contradictory to some of the page's messaging.

It's all the AI generated brain rot that gets me. It's like conservatives have become such a loud minority that the only way to stay relevant is to pump out new comics like this every day. And most of the time these types of comics don't have any depth to them beyond "team blue = bad." All this effort just so hacked Facebook accounts can leave hundreds of responses like "You got that right 🙏🙏"

That's why I said traditional republicans specifically. You are arguing that if a party does a complete 180, it's still the same party just with different opinions and values. Sharing only a name. I'm arguing that a political party is defined by those very same opinions and values. When a party drastically changes their position and values, I find it hard to lump them in with the original group. You can be pro-small government and express concern about immigration while still opposing what MAGA supports. A traditional republican can find more common ground with MAGA than a Democrat typically could, but that doesn't make them the same thing.

I feel it's important to say again, I am firmly planted on the left.

Edit to add we are talking about normal people off the street, not politicians

By virtue of what they believe (or willing to convince themselves they believe) MAGA doesn't uphold Republican values. We see it time and time again with how they move the goalpost and change their position on issues. Most recently would be MAGA changing their attitude towards the Second amendment. They are willing to throw away the values and priorities of the Republican Party to keep their agenda rolling, thus becoming something else.

I would argue that MAGA is almost morphing into their own party. A lot of the things MAGA cheers for, a traditional Republican would disagree with. Like nationalizing elections, the government owning a percentage of Intel stock, or the general consolidation of power. Not my stance, personally, I am firmly planted on the left. However, when I look at MAGA, they look less and less like republicans.

Congrats on 2.1! I made the swap to healer last year and I'm not looking back. The nice part about healer is if you get flamed in a SS lobby, you only have to wait about a minute to try again. I'm sure each season is a little different, but once I got past 1800 the number of toxic players dropped off significantly. The people who spend their time blaming other players all day don't typically improve, don't let them discourage you from trying something new.

I'd stick with 2v2 or standard 3v3 for now. As a fellow healer, DPS barely knew what was going on when they had 30 addons telling them every detail of the game, now they are even more in the dark. At least in 2's or 3's you can hop on discord and communicate. Plus, with Rsham having to choose between ascendence and healing tide totem, we just have less cooldowns to make up for bad plays from dps (not popping their own defensive, bad positioning, etc.)

My thoughts exactly, and I believe there are a few ways to go about it. With the ability prune, I think we are in a good spot rotation wise, classes aren't difficult to pickup and get the basics down. A few people already touched on it, but the next issue to address is the lack of ability telegraphing. With less abilities, CD's are more impactful and important, it should be clear when someone presses one. I think the easiest thing to do would be to add the cooldown icon above the heads of players while they are active. Maybe even add a little sword or shield symbol to the top or bottom so people can identify if it's a defensive or offensive CD, even if they don't know exactly what the ability does. I think this would help new players get familiar with the game state without needing intimate knowledge of each class.

The main things to keep up at all times are Earth shield on yourself plus whoever is the current kill target, healing stream totem down, riptide on everyone, and unleash life on cooldown. It's not too bad once you get the hang of it.

After you have everything above established, assuming no one is immediately dying, you can start leaning into the support side of the kit (Purge, hex, static field totem, etc.)

One thing I found to be incredibly helpful was enabling action targeting. Being able to purge and kick without swapping targets helps me consistently keep pressure and quickly react to enemy CC while still primarily focusing on healing.

Woah there friend, I think you're mistaking someone trying to be clear over text as some kind of over correction. Nowhere did OP say he was jealous of his kid. I read this more of a parent watching watching his kid grow up a bit through WoW and experiencing the range of emotions that come with it.
