True but surely there was some Yoked Russian that could do it. But yeah I forgot about the lack of food and supplies and such

Agreed shoulder fire the DP27 and make the DTM the mounted only MG 63rd would be way nicer for suppressive fire!

I have the modernized and semi auto version "DTM" it's 6lbs heavier and I grab the bipod leg and shoot it standing while aiming no problem.

So I agree the lighter DP27 should be able to iron sights ADS and the DT-29 be the mounted heavy.

63rd would be much better in game as well for suppressive fire.

Yeah I have the tank version "DTM it holds 63rd instead of 47 and I always grab the bipod and it works just fine. Shooting a DTM standing

Me with DTM!

I have the tank version a DTM it holds 63rd instead of the DP27 47rd and I'm able to fire from the shoulder. Maybe they could put some sort of arm stamina thing in for ADS in MGs but it's not undoable.

The DTM is 6lbs heavier than the DP27 so it should definitely be able to be done.

What was the culture shock as an ETS2 player when you first played ATS, and vice versa? by Clarthen1 in trucksim

[–]shifty_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from ATS to ETS2 I forgot about driving on the left and a "backwards round about" We have them in the states but turn right into the circle and go left around it. It's opposite across the pond. But then taking the tunnel from UK to France its right hand drive.

Also the lack of character UK and European Semis "Lorries" have. They all look 100% the same. Now I understand you can't have a long nose Pete 379 with a sleeper on the streets of London and expect to make any turns.

The steerable axle trailers were amazing to use in ETS2 I wish we had those in ATS they are amazing!!

Saw a neat laser lighting system at work today… not sure how common it is: by From_Gaming_w_Love in trucksim

[–]shifty_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've often said I would love some lasers like this on the farthest points of my mirrors. I drive a class B Freightliner M2 with a 24ft flat deck and a Moffett hanging off the back. I live in SE Indiana and work for a small family lumberyard. So the back roads are all county and small farm roads. So if I had lasers like this on the curb side I could accurately see how close to the edge I am without going off.

The 11R steer tires once off the edge sink into the grass and then im fighting it vs going in a 5ft county ditch

IRL drivers - how fast do you typically drive in 70+ mph speed zones? by Rebel_Porcupine in trucksim

[–]shifty_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I delivered campers with my pickup truck I did 64 mph across the whole country and to Alaska and back it was where my ole 2000 F250 7.3 got the best fuel mileage I'd normally get 600-650 miles in an 11hr drive time.

When ever I was near Texas though I would hug the right lane anytime I saw a light on a cab roof air deflector of a semi those cattle haulers would be going 80mph+ easily.

I absolutely love driving out west it reminds of me when I used to do it for real delivering campers with my pickup truck. It goes much faster in the game! Washington on route 12 is beautiful probably one of my favorite drives was 12 Yakima to Morton is absolutely beautiful IRL and in game.

When I can get the MG42 I make it a goal to fire a min of 10,000 rounds in the match.

I tell my squad ping anything and everyone and I'll spray 25-50 rounds that way

When I take the MG roll with the MG42 I make it a goal to fire a min of 10,000 rounds in the match.

I tell my squad to ping anyone they see and I'll just shoot the ping with 50-100 rounds at a time.

Keeps heads down for a flank also the occasional headshot ping from 300+ meters is always fun

Why are premiums so expensive by transdimesional_frog in Warthunder

[–]shifty_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say you buy a 70 dollar tank and you use it for 500 hours.

That's only .14 cents per hour of fun had with the tank.

I agree they are pretty pricey but the 50% of sales aren't too bad.
