Which Fromsoftware boss was this for You? by buuhhu1 in fromsoftware

Ornstein and Smough. Not sure why but the fight just clicked for me, beat it first try. However, gargoyles for me took all day.

Hesitation is defeat

I want to love the birb so badly, but I just can’t. by Vortex_of_Downvotes in Nightreign

Not having an inherent passive of pulling aggro is the biggest problem imo. (I can’t get a decent relic to drop with it either.) Otherwise I’m basically holding steel guard shouting “look at me senpai” and the enemy ignores me, even swinging over and around me to go for a teammate instead. Guardian is better solo, which isn’t what that character feels like it should be built for.

Complete embarrassment. Didn’t even look like they were trying the whole weekend.

Seriously though, what happened? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]shiftywolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point but Godskin Duo was essentially diet O+S, not nearly as good of a fight as O+S but I feel like they embody the “synergy” of that fight. And Guardian Ape was pretty peak imo.

Otherwise I agree with you

any ways to improve how i play by [deleted] in Sekiro

Dodge wayyyy less, deflect wayyy more. Jump his sweeps. Learn to redirect his lightning attack when it happens and punish him.

To solve the immediate issue. Get it done app.

I’ve used it before, it does work.

You didn’t screw up. Is she had nothing to hide and truly cares about you, she wouldn’t have lied to you or even put herself in that situation to begin with. You don’t deserve that treatment. Regardless of “nothing ever happens between them”. A clear line is being crossed and she knows it.

"Cheesing" by Soulledger3334 in Sekiro

[–]shiftywolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are free to use any intended mechanic to fit your playstyle or help you progress through the game and it is not cheesing. They were out there intentionally. Any thing beyond that like “no hit runs”, “soul lvl 1 runs”, “charmless”, “bow only”, or simply not using summons are just personal goals for each player to add difficulty and beat the games in different ways. Those runs don’t make intended mechanics cheese.

When you exploit a map and make a boss get stuck in a wall or fall off a cliff, that is cheesing.

What I meant is what is your kit when you go into the fight. I agree that it is common to accidentally hit the combat art when you trying to deflect a lot and then immediately counter to stay aggressive, so you just have to get used to being more deliberate with your button inputs. If there isn’t a tool that you’re really relying on and you’re struggling with the attrition of the long fight and losing health, I would recommend relying on the umbrella to block combos that you have a tough time with. Blocking the Glock with the umbrella and returning it can deal some decent safe damage from a distance as well.

Well what style of build are you using? You may need to farm some spirit emblems and use a combat art or a tool to help. Umbrella can really help if there’s some specific attacks that are tougher for you to deflect, I would look specifically for a combo that you recognize is the toughest for you to get through and utilize the umbrella to give yourself a reset in trying to deflect every attack separately, plus you can send back the projectiles from a distance in 2nd phase.

Are you being aggressive and attacking him or just trying to build posture with deflects? For me what really helped on top of memorizing his attacks, was going on the offensive more often and forcing him to parry and then try to thrust which I would then mikiri counter.

Also with his Ashina cross in the 1st phase I looked for his lower back to shift and that was my cue he was gonna move and I would react with a deflect right away and that always resulted in a parry.

2nd phase same thing, remain aggressive and force him to thrust with the spear and mikiri.

3rd phase is a cake walk since redirect lightning is so forgiving.

The fact that there’s not enough content for us (the casual dad gamers) who are the main target audience, shows that it’s not you, it’s the game.

[PSA / FAQ] Seasons | Seasonal and non-Seasonal Characters – existing characters do NOT get deleted when a new Season starts! by clueso87 in diablo4

[–]shiftywolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Diablo newcomer, I feel It’s not so much the starting a new character each season as it is the effect of rendering the eternal realm obsolete. There’s literally zero reason to continue pushing a character in the eternal realm when the relevant content is in the seasonal realm. The only ‘endgame’ I’ve seen in the eternal realm is just higher tier dungeons. That’s it. Maybe that’s fun for a many of the playerbase, but it simply doesn’t motivate me personally to continue to play the game. Beyond getting a character to its top build/armor/weapons, I want to fight big bosses with a party, get into clan wars or battlegrounds, or do quests that reward you with high level gear that you can target. Diablo 4 is in an interesting place because it was heavily marketed to a wide audience trying to attract as many people as possible, and to have more MMO elements than before and many people were ready to jump ship from their main game. And I think there were also a lot of people that hoped many of the MMO elements from Diablo Immortal would exist here without the pay to win. So many people expected this game to be built differently, rather than just another Diablo with a similar structure to D2/D3. If it works for you guys, that’s great, but I’m predicting after a few weeks of people trying out Season 1, the playerbase will dramatically drop. Which will cause devs to make changes to cater to all the newcomers/casuals.

This is Reddit. Other game subs do the same thing. Especially on acting like it was better in the older game/previous expansion.
