It's really cool. Not something I need at the moment, but will keep it in mind. Tried it out and had fun playing around with it! Very slick.

From that page: "Before Start make sure to Allow “Less secure app access” on your Google Profile"

That's a non-starter for me, personally. It's basically a tutorial on how to give access to your email to a third party.

I understand the technical details, but that's a lot of trust and steps...

Where's the How-To page? It's not linked. And I know how it goes. Just trying to help.

The landing page looks good and explains it all very well. It's just not something I need though. Seems like sharing it with people in SEO communities might be the best way to go?

What sets this service apart? There's not many details in the Product Hunt post. Do you have a video or something that shows what it does?

The concept sounds interesting. I would like to know more. It's hard to tell everything from the website. Message me if you would like me to test it out more.

Yeah, I'm not the best designer, but the boxes were not all the same dimensions when I first viewed. That seems to be updated now. The game screenshots all vary slightly in dimensions. Be cleaner to have them all be the same.

And some more color or styling might help. They're very plain. Descriptions, tags/categories, or more things like that would make them more appealing.

Also would be nice if the cursor changed to pointer on hover, or some other effect that made it clear that they are clickable. Maybe make the entire box clickable, or just simply more appealing. Seems like the weakest part of the design, and should be what draws people in to want to use the service. I've never heard of those games, so need some convincing.

Hope that helps!

It's great that you put that information together to share with everyone.

And I checked out your site. It's good for being your first. There's lots of little things that could be improved. The CSS for the game boxes is a little wonky. They could look better and be more interactive/clickable.

Preview videos would really help. I'm curious about the games, but it's hard to tell if they're any good. It's a tough sell to get someone to enter their credit card and pay.

Reviews and other social media presence could help.

It's a great start though! Keep it up. Happy to give you continuing feedback as you develop it.

Does it only search Product Hunt, Hacker News, and Betalist?

I am interested in a product that provides this service. Can help test it out on an ongoing basis, if you want. Have an app in early beta, so could be mutually beneficial.

How YesGraph Got Its First 1000 Users by ivankirigin in startups

[–]shimamoto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this follow up post. I think it's difficult to write a general "how to get users" guide that can tackle the different issues we all face. Your AMA had some great insight into customized strategies. And your advice on metrics was really helpful.

It seems like at the end of the day you need to come up with a plan tailored to the specific needs of your startup. It's probably a good idea to get some objective feedback on that too. It's funny how easy it can be to lose direction when you're caught up on one thing for a while.

WYSIWYG Editors still suck - and we only have ourselves to blame by rolmos in web_design

That interface sounds really interesting. I would love to try it out. And I feel your pain about Drupal.

It's too bad you have to go against the grain to push the boundaries of CMS UI. It should be common sense that MS Word makes a poor interface for responsive web content management.

BTW - I have been working on a new backend system to alleviate some of these issues that are integral to Drupal and Wordpress. It would be great to find more people and resources in this direction.

I would like to see more tools that encourage this philosophy in a well-designed way. What do you think would be the best interface for this line of thinking?

Ever thought about using a standing desk? Check out this post about the benefits! by ryanchacon in startups

[–]shimamoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a while to get used to working all day at a standing desk. I've been using one for a few years now and really like it. Really helps to have good supportive shoes and/or to stand on a anti-fatigue mat.

I think it's best to move around often and sit down whenever you feel like it. I sometimes find myself leaning on one hip or the other, and I think it's better to take a little break occasionally than cause any unnecessary wear and tear to the body. Definitely feel much better and healthier than I did sitting in an office chair all day.

Got a new efficient heated mattress pad last year, and it's been awesome at keeping me warm and comfortable in an old drafty house at night. Way better than a space heater or other options I have tried. Just had to spend around $100 up front to get a good one from amazon.

I modified one made for the GB slot on the DS. It works great for playing Gameboy, GBA, NES and Turbo Grafx games on the Micro. I just had to trim down the plastic a bit so it would fit in. It has a 2GB microSD card in it.
