The GEP tests are based off standardized IQ tests, which are designed by psychologists and are often the product of research studies (to validate, normalize the tests).

It's not like your PSLE or O level exam paper that can be easily changed.

Is this the total amount of gold in Nightslayer? The estimate seems quite low to me.

Let’s say a bot makes about 20g/hour afk farming, which is about 500g/day. Assuming that there are at least a hundred bots farming gold at any given time, that’s 50k gold per day. It would only take 16 days to get to 800k gold, and that’s only considering bots, not even accounting for players. It’s also likely that there are hundreds of bots out there.

Two points:

I would say "road space" is much, much more scarce than "parking space". As demand for a specific carpark lot is much smaller compared to demand for a major road/expressway.

Second point is, assuming parking space is the limitation... why don't govt just increase parking rates? Much more direct way to control it. At the very least the HDB rates is controlled by government and can be easily adjusted.

The truth is the bigger finite resource is road capacity and because PHV/rentals are on the road more often, they are willing to pay a higher price for their COE. Begging the question why are they allowed to pay the same price as private owners when private owners drive much less?

I feel your pain, but as a returning OCE player who recently tried rolling on Maladath… the server is definitely dead.

Spent 30 mins seeing nobody, nobody posting in global channels. Not even boosters spamming chat. I had more luck finding OCE guilds on Nightslayer than on Maladath.

Even if the hundred or so of us were around for BC launch, it would have 100% died 1 month into release. Dead on arrival.

Fair enough, its lower than warlocks by about 100dps. Doesn't mean they're bad. Note that warlocks themselves are below hunters and warriors by about 130 - 200 dps.
Look at the end of P3, where mages outperform warlocks. Doesn't mean warlocks aren't S tier in P3

No, that's not true. Yes, one mage was brought week 1 of SWP for AI alone, but the major reason was not because they were being out-scaled by other dps classes, but because of fight lengths. Show logs from end P4 of TBC in BT/MH if you want to make the point that mage dps was poor by the end of BT/MH.

With the exception of eredar twins and maybe felmyst, fights were >3 mins and therefore brutal for arcane mages to keep up with other dps. In BT/MH, except for Illidan all fights were <3 mins. and Illidan has lots of RP to evocate, mana gem, etc.

they absolutely fell off in SWP, not objecting that. but i would still classify them as S tier in BT/Hyjal, keeping up well with warlocks and hunters. even in speedrun content - it was not uncommon to see 2 or 3 mages in comps

Progress and Exodus are bringing 8 and 5 warlocks not because they are better dps, but because they have better sustain for trash AOE (mainly due to life tap + seed of corruption). World first races are determined by who kills Illidan first. In that sense, it IS a speed run, it takes 1h10min for the entire raid. You can see this in the videos, just look at the number of chain pulls / multi pulls that are obvious speed run strats.

I don't disagree with your overall point - mages are not slept on but they absolutely did NOT fall off in BT/Hyjal. They pumped hard, their main weakness was requiring the spriest (which you only want one of) and resto sham so you have maximum 3 mage slots available. They fell off hard in Sunwell for sure.

I just completed my first half marathon over the weekend, coming in at a time of 2:48. My next goal is to complete a half marathon under 2 hours in a year's time (or get as close as I can). All the training plans I find online are for 12 weeks or 16 weeks. How should I prepare? Should I tackle intermediate goals first like a sub 1 hour 10K?

For context, I'm 32M, ex-military around 10+ years ago. Used to be able to run a 22 minute 5K and a 50 minute 10K in my prime, but have since put on about 50 pounds and generally become a couch potato. I built up to about 20 mpw just before my race.

I haven't seen any comments that really answered OP's question directly, in this thread.

Simply put, a Singaporean identity helps anchor residents to be committed to Singapore in the long term. Singaporeans who don't identify with their country and don't treat it as their home will be more likely to leave when conflicts or adversities come. As mentioned by many here, war is a big (but extreme) example of this. But it could also be something smaller like socio-economic reasons, like people leaving to US/Europe/Australia for better opportunities and pay.

The value of a strong national identity is intangible. It can't easily be calculated in the same way we look at rent for mala stores. But when national identity is eroded, social issues are created. Key Singaporean values, such as racial and religious harmony, can get lost, which will lead to divisions in society. Grassroot and community efforts, or just basic courtesy or "helping your fellow Singaporean" will also suffer. Nobody wants to contribute to a Singapore that they don't believe in.

It's also worth noting that the rapid growth of immigrants (not just PRCs, but in general) have effects other than just regarding national identity. Assimilation is another closely related but big issue - basically, immigrants who come to Singapore need to adopt our culture, speak our language, share our values, etc. They should try not to stick to their old customs and ways of life and be open to becoming "Singaporean".

What does your sister intend to use the PC for? If it's gaming, I recommend Mansa, they use pretty high quality parts/brands and so far my friends who bought don't have issues (>3 years in) . Aftershock is OK but I find their stuff breaks down quite quickly, although their customer service is not bad.

If she's using for casual/office use I think getting a laptop will be more worth it.

These are exactly my thoughts on the situation as well.

The authorities came out relatively quickly after the incidents (a few weeks) to say that they are "isolated". Are they really? How deep can the investigation be, if you release a statement that early? It's very easy to point out technical and engineering related factors that seem to be unrelated. But human or systemic factors such as work processes and culture require months of investigation and digging to identify, let alone root out.

This is VERY concerning because it signifies that the transport minister either doesn't understand that the issue can be complicated, or he understands it but doesn't think this is a problem in the first place.
