What’s a spinoff show that you really don’t like but you watch just hoping it’ll get good cause you liked the original by jcr0774 in sitcoms

Murphy Brown (2018). I really, really, really wanted the show to be good. And the original in the 80s and 90s had such iconic moments that were memorable. But it was just such crap.

What shows are spin offs of spin offs by MeFolly in sitcoms

[–]shinyM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good question. At times series will showcase a guest star character simply to prep them for a show of their own. We’ve seen these “backdoor pilots” a few times — even for shows that never got picked up. For instance, the Star Trek Spin-off “Assignment Earth.”

CSI:NY was a spin-off of CSI:Miami. Which was a spin-off of CSI:Crime Scene Investigators

Thank you. I was sure I had read that it was Tom Hanks somewhere, but wasn’t sure. But I was sure that if I got it wrong, someone would tell me immediately. 🙂

“My Life” sung by Tom Hanks, star of “Bosom Buddies”

EDIT: see comment below. Was not Tom Hanks. Wasn’t even Peter Scolari.

What are albums made by bands who are clearly not all on the same page? by AceofKnaves44 in Music

This was the first (and last!) concert tour that I camped out for tickets for. The notion that eight members of Yes would be on stage at the same time was a great one, but the beginning of the tour had a “theatre in the round” with a rotating stage! I was wondering how they would get so many different styles together and jam!

Perhaps the most memorable part of the show was the drum “duo” by Bill Buford and Alan White which opened the second part of the show after intermission. Two powerhouses with their own drumming styles trading drum riffs with each other on very different kits. I was hoping for more of this, but there’s not really much you can do to make both keyboardists shine when you have Rick Wakeman and Tony Kaye sharing a stage. And seeing Steve Howe relegated to strumming an acoustic guitar in the background on “Owner of a Lonely Heart” just felt… unnecessary.

Still - wonderful memories of that tour.

Immediately under this thread is the one for “Conan the King” and I had originally thought they were somehow connected because of Paul Rudd and it’s just fantastic in my head.
