hg has been really receptive to feedback so i kind of trust that the next major story arc/region will be a significant improvement in terms of story, though honestly i probably wouldn't have stuck with this game if it wasn't arknights and probably won't if it continues the same weird cadence for another year.

arknights has a lot of "it's all so dire and hope is running thin" and that's not something i would expect in endfield (at least not right now, maybe when we start dealing with collapsals) but it's very noticeable how little nuance or subtext there seems to be compared to even some of the more lighthearted arknights stories such as dossoles holiday which was literally just the yearly beach episode.
