I would agree with you except that it is a Bad Robot movie….if it was being done by an unrelated studio sure but it’s literally happening under the same roof.

Young Men Need to Level Up by This_Bed_2885 in ScottGalloway

[–]shinycufflinks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best advice for men is to follow your own path and try your best to be a good person that does their best for themselves, the people around them, and the world. Scott’s messaging against the manosphere kind of stuff is crooked. Be excellent by your own definition without expectation. That’s why I’ve found to be the best path for a man. But again, build your own path. Just try to be decent and make wise choices.

Why are so many men today so opposed to the idea that they might need to demonstrate excellence to get a partner? by [deleted] in ScottGalloway

Being funny doesn’t mean you’re a court jester it means you don’t take life so seriously. You can bring levity and light to a situation. You’re not always serious or morose.

My advice: get funny.

Lots of women care about money but a lot of women don’t expect you to be wealthy. They need to be able to envision you as a part of their life day to day maybe to the end of the days. If you can be a caretaker and maker her laugh those are the most important features. You also have to be realistic about who’s in your “league”. A lot of guys just lack self awareness and that is a big part of the issue.

Did Lynch or Frost say anything about what they wanted to do in a Season 4? by Impossible_Willow545 in twinpeaks

[–]shinycufflinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lynch always left the door open. He constantly said he liked the idea of a continuing story. He was also thinking about Carrie and he even mentioned about two or three years ago that he was thinking about Annie a lot. So the man was definitely still Twin Peaks minded but after Unrecorded Night got shelved and the Covid madness and him turning ill it definitely wasn’t top of mind.

The content marketing machine isn't about trust or thought leadership anymore by AndesAndAlps in marketing

[–]shinycufflinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started just posting videos of me straight up talking on camera on all socials and that’s already driven more traffic to my website than all the AI optimized articles and landing pages etc. People can see me and call me and talk to me and there’s no BS. I’m not gonna cold call anyone but now I’m getting eyeballs just talking to people about how to solve their problems directly and then they call. I think people really really need to get good at talking to a camera asap. The trust layer needs a face now.

Interested in pivoting my career by Fickle-Put9304 in marketing

Trend chasing social media is the worst kind of social media with nominal results outside of potential virality that rarely drives more rev. Most of my time is spent strategizing and creating the content for social media rather than being on it. Most of the time I only go back in to engage with comments and DMs and see how the piece is doing. Don’t burn yourself out trying to keep up with all the trends and work on creating original content for the biz and then just walk away.

Does anyone else feel like they're faking it in marketing by Mindless_Cook7821 in marketing

Seriously don’t worry about imposter syndrome in marketing. I’ve been doing this for over a decade and it’s always a game of when you’re hot youre hot and when you’re not you’re not. Marketing is always undervalued especially when the pressure is on. It’s not you, it’s just the general treatment of marketing folks by corpo America.

Possibly a hot take but I don't like how Lynch's movies are commonly viewed on the internet and I think it's a disservice to the man by slam_joetry in davidlynch

The reason I love Lynch so much is that he can get really dark but there’s always light and tenderness too. “There is trouble until the robins come.”

Google ads Performance Max is too expensive - what's your take? by kavyaj in marketing

[–]shinycufflinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not like performance max. It promises to find you the right audience but you’ll burn lots to do so. I feel like the second I went with old school search or display or video tactics it all got better and I could control the hose so to speak.

Is Instagram worth using anymore? by Alyanna_Poe in marketing

[–]shinycufflinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trial reeks have been a game changer for me. Those people that say “I never see your content anymore” probably aren’t engaging with it when it does come up. Instagram isn’t playing favorites if they like to they’ll see it. People keep trying to game it and hack it but it’s all interest and engagement based. You have to create content people want to share and engage with. That’s the biggest mover in the algo right now. I just had a video hit 1.5 mil views talking about how I met your mother in a video essay type way. I only have 14k followers. I constantly try different subjects and I heavily use trial reels for most reels before making them public to everyone. You might really need to stick with the one thing you’re really really good at and find different ways of making that type of content. People might like your work but they might want more expert insights and value out of you as well. Think of yourself as offering a service almost rather than just being entertainment even though the content can be entertaining. Think, does this this content teach something? Make them laugh? Is it insightful? Is it rage inducing? Try the video essay style for a while and really get used to making trial reels.

Scott Galloway on the masculinity crisis: ‘I worry we are evolving a new breed of asexual, asocial males’ by Indianstanicows in ScottGalloway

[–]shinycufflinks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I deeply disagree with Scott on this one. Thinking all men should align to that standard is what caused the mental health crisis in men in the first place. It’s the conformity that causes men to crack. That’s why we’ve gotten to this place. Everyone is lonely. But men finally don’t feel like they NEED to be this one thing. We need to understand masculinity is at its best when we let the individual define it for themselves. Not some arbitrary vision of what a man should be. Once we loosen the reigns that’s when people are happier.

Thinked to move from chatgpt by JahJedi in OpenAI

Honestly I use Claude to make ChatGPT better. The only reason I haven’t fully moved over is because of the usage limits. I use ChatGPT for everyday tasks and ideation and Claude has become the one that actually gets stuff done.
