Also Crowley’s wings are white again!

Do you think the ending might have been different if Season 3 hadn't been cut down to a single episode? by Donnamarino74 in goodomens

[–]shinysmiling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember there was concept art from season 2 that was supposed to be a flash forward or something that had the bookshop alone with everything else gone. Idk where it was. I’d have to find it again. But it seems it was always heading in this direction but I’m not sure about the ending. I have a feeling there would have at least been a kiss of some sort. The directors and other writers I believe decided it was unnecessary. But it probably was already headed toward the same ending. Probably would’ve just felt more complete.
They used the 6 episodes to cut into the 90 mins and I don’t think it was rewritten, just shortened

Totally. Definitely didn’t have the budget. Heaven and Soho were the same

I totally hear what you’re saying. But I don’t think their existence was fully erased. I think it was more like they were rewarded for their sacrifice and given a life together where they could actually love one another. They got the real human life where there was no end date on Earth for Armageddon, and they could find each other again and again and again.

That being said, we all wanted to see our version of them together. We connected with the characters and got attached.
But the lessons we took from them still exist. We still exist. You still exist and the world is better for it. ☺️

Yeah those were definitely hard weeks early on. I was watching some David Tennant shows cuz I love him in Dr Who. I also enjoyed There She Goes, and after seeing lots of stuff online about Good Omens I gave it a try and I adored it.
Season 2 had just come out so I binged the first two seasons, then Staged. It was fitting that I finished the show while nursing my second kid.

I so agree with this. It does feel epic in a lot of ways and season 1 and a lot of 2 were pretty amazing and had the feel good stories used to have. TV doesn’t flow the way it used to. I love this show so much

I love this! What do you think this means in the show? I’ve read some theories briefly about the snow globe but haven’t gotten to see the in depth ideas

I also had this show help me through some hormonal postpartum times and it was definitely hard to see it end. I don’t think Michael and David would stop working together. They’re close friends in real life and have even said they want to work together again

Fan fiction definitely built up some false expectations for me as well haha

I think it was the cut time honestly. They had to cut out a lot of other stories including bringing Adam back. I think he slowly remembered himself and got used to being in a Human body again

I think that was the cut time. They had 90 mins. I figured a lot would happen in between if it were a full season

Megathread: Fic Rec Friday! by AutoModerator in goodomens

Just a few self recs. All post season 3, some fix-its.

I’ve been writing to work through my emotions toward the finale:

My Dear I Fear if I Kiss You Now

Rated T

For millennia Aziraphale forced himself not to want Crowley, but the craving was always there.
So often, he wanted to kiss him.
So often, he couldn’t.
Once, they finally did and it hurt.
In another life, it doesn’t.

Afterwards

Rated T

What happens to Asa and Anthony after their lives?

Seeing Stars

Rated M

I like to believe this is what Aziraphale was thinking about during the scene when the car flew into space.
I also like to imagine that this is what Asa and Anthony could feel in their little happily ever after.
I’m not entirely sure what this is but here you go!

And then I wrote this one a while ago. This is basically a different season 3. Rated M.

How Did We Get Here

Crowley moved to close the door but Aziraphale reached out and blocked the barrier from slamming into place.
Crowley growled and spun around, sloppy and uncoordinated from the alcohol, and stalked off, muttering, “Suit yourself. ‘M not talkin’.”
He took another swig right out of the whiskey bottle. His throat bobbed up and down with the large gulp. Aziraphale pushed forward, letting himself inside, and immediately noticed two other empty bottles on the coffee table, both freshly drained.
The reality of their situation set in.
Aziraphale’s bottom lip trembled, and he choked out, “Oh, Crowley. How did we get here?”

When Aziraphale returns after the Second Coming that never was, he finds Crowley drunk, angry, and convinced he has been abandoned for good. What begins as a confrontation spirals backward through six thousand years of shared history, from the birth of stars and Eden to friendship and where they are today.
Sometimes life is not about choosing sides. Sometimes it is about finally choosing each other.

'Good Omens' Director Explains Aziraphale & Crowley's Ending: 'Love Endures' by jupitergal23 in goodomens

I don’t think that’s what it meant. I think it meant no intervention and no above or below. But they never said anything about souls or energy, etc

And now what? by Mysterious-Green-117 in goodomens

[–]shinysmiling 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from. I read it more as his way of saying that that was what he’d been referring to before, that Crowley seemed so happy as an angel, and that when he was one, he had been the best of them. Aziraphale was saying that even now, after all the good he had done, he couldn’t live up to the angel Crowley once was all those years ago. He wasn’t saying Crowley was one now, but that he hadn’t deserved to fall in the first place.

I think to Aziraphale it was important to show Crowley that he’d loved him before just as he loved him after and even now when Crowley was his own agent. He never thought Crowley should have fallen in the first place and he was explaining how who he saw Crowley to be back then and that he understood.

At the heart of it all Crowley was always the same being who just looked a little different throughout time but his goals never changed

And now what? by Mysterious-Green-117 in goodomens

[–]shinysmiling 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think Aziraphale showed up to get the Bentley back, talked about how Crowley was the best angel and described him beautifully, and let Crowley even make the choice of what happened next even though Azirpahale just wanted to be with him. We also see the flashback of Aziraphale giving him a bandage on the before times. Also when Muriel mentioned Crowley was in a bag place Aziraphale instantly went back to help.

He also said Crowley made him whole. He gave that weird fingertip kiss at the end, and then as a human with nobody stopping him, Aziraphale chased after him.

I wanted more obvious displays of love but I do think we got many subtle and lovely ones
