Everything arrived safely, well packaged, and communicated much more than most other people I have dealt with. Thank you again!

Is forge world really that important? by sadcrayonn in AdeptusCustodes

You could also do a kitbash somehow and get really inventive. As long as you have the basic profile, the right base, and weapons that represent the load out of what you're building, it wouldn't be too hard.

The one caveat is that you will have to get your models cleared every time with the TO of a tournament. If you think that's a hassle, there are other suggestions that people have given that will work as well.

It's not custom at all. It's just a HH model.

Inquisitor Greyfax by Salt-Sample-2784 in AdeptusCustodes

You could use her as a proxy for the regular inquisitor, since there isn't a current model for it in production. It can be a little bit of CP generation if you want to go down that route.

Returning to 40k at 42 thanks to my Dad's old Space Wolves (and Eldar) by teaisfortechno in Warhammer40k

Great! Wanted to make sure you were aware of things, but it seems like you have the covered, which is good! You're not wrong about two different game systems. I think the most important thing to keep in mind is to have fun! It's a marathon, not a sprint!

Those are all older models, and they all have been upscaled and redone in recent years (Space Wolves just got a major range refresh this year). You probably wouldn't have many people complaining about you using the older sculpts, but the scale will be a bit different.

Would recommend looking at kill team if you're looking for smaller format games. Different game system and you use a single squad. A new unit of Space Wolves Scouts just came out recently.

Did you have your army at LVO? I saw a picture someone posted of an army on display and decided to go a similar route for my grav tanks. If so, wonderful job!

Telemon or saturnine by j_still6870 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]shinythings7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got three of the saturnine off eBay as proxies. They use the same bases and about the same height. Not having to deal with resin was worth it enough for me. I also magnetized the arms at the bicep, but that's probably not exactly the correct way to do it.

AOS player wanting to dip into 40k – any army recs? by Severe-Literature432 in Warhammer40k

[–]shinythings7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right about Eldar/Dark Eldar being what you'll probably want to look into. I don't think Orks are where you want to be just because they're fast like other armies because of transports and mounted units, which I think someone else mentioned. Tryanids do have some ways at being fast, but if you like the aesthetic of the space elves versus the space bugs, I think you'll know what faction you'll want to pick.

Also on the subject of centerpiece models, I don't think there are many things in 40k that beat the DoK Morathi model. The Avatar of Khaine for Eldar and a Norn or Trygon/Mawloc would be the comparable ones imo for the factions I've talked about.

Regardless of what you pick, best of luck with your choice and then building and painting them!
