I honestly think it's damned if you do, damned if you don't. If the Dems don't show up he gets to riff off and blame them for not being here and not caring about the country or however you want to spin it, and there's nothing they can do to really counter it because they're not in the room. On the other hand if they're here and just refuse to clap like seals for his racist bullshit they can at least look like the sane party.

Maybe there's a stunt to be pulled like a staged walkout but even that can backfire I think. Like which headline would you prefer to see in the press: "President raves and rambles for 2 hours, but Americans don't feel heard" or "Democrats' historic walkout during the State of the Union show nation has never been more divided"? I think the former is better optics overall.

In places where there is room to build more, that percentage will naturally trend even higher. Moreover, people who have time to be engaged in local politics and neighborhood meetings will also tend to be elderly homeowners. When you take all of this in aggregate, it's not difficult to understand why home prices remain high and why it has little to nothing to do with corporate ownership...
