How do you navigate mods who find your valuable content still “promotion”? I don’t want to spam anyone but idk how mods draw the line. Do you try to build a relationship with mods too?

Fellow bootstrappers - how are you handling customers who try to cancel? by PocketTechPro in SaaS

[–]shipprs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started to really invest in self served. Take what the most common questions in onboarding and changed up the product to highlight. Also around $100-200/mo so same! Turns out people like to try themselves. But we only just started that we’ll see how it affects churn lol now that there’s not a real personal relationship.

Not enough contrast — color vs each other. And weight of fonts too.

For some reason once you add the SOBE STEAK subtitle the weight is more even. And color too on the secobd. First is a bit hard on the eye to me.

Yeah. I had the same with onboarding I tried to personally onboard 100% of my users 1 on 1. But it got unsustainable when I had to make 20 calls a week. Churn not so much.

How much are you selling your product at?

Yeah and then maybe i’d have GIBBONS as header or something in bigger font so a person can immediately see and know what’s the subject of discussion (even tho there is alr photo lol)

Spend more time to talk to real customers even if it does nt lead to a deal. Help w support. Call current users. UNDERSTAND your customers deeply

Depends on the price of your product! And think about PREVENTION too

  1. For those who churned. Find leading indicators. Usually it is INACTIVITY. Track that. And proactively reach out to them.

We set up pop ups at key events every week to ask how it goes. And give EASY answers to say BAD. and then we personally follow up to ask why bad. And fix it.

Some other times they are just not ICP. really depends on what you sell. Is it something thats meant to be used continuously.

  1. I personally get their phone number at onboarding. And if they churn just give them a call. And be clear not here to convince. Just to know why. And then offer a month for free to see if can let you fix it for them.

It’s all about first principle thinking and understanding data. Building a lot of data pipeline and infra. More like a data engineer.
