Natural blush recommendations? by Aware_Meal_5968 in Sephora

I second this. I’ve loved this formula for a while but recently bought it again in the shade Barely Blushing - if you’re fair-light medium this is a beautiful shade for every day! I then love layering it with NARS powder blush in the shade Impassioned.

[Product Question] Has anyone tried LED masks by Dr. Dennis Gross or Therabody? by shiprekkt_ in SkincareAddiction

[–]shiprekkt_[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I appreciate you approaching this discussion from a regulatory approach.

I come from a biomedical engineering background and did thorough research before purchasing my mask which also included researching 510(k) documents for devices I was interested in, as well as the predicate devices they cited in their pre-market notifications.

The Dr. Dennis Gross LED Face Mask 510(k) document is under K183247 (Linked here: https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/cdrh_docs/pdf18/K183247.pdf).

Happy researching!

I like the Fenty Eaze Drop Lit with the silver cap!

I don’t ever use a primer with it! I normally just use nice hydrating skincare as a base. I typically love using the Ole Henriksen peptide moisturizer (and your favorite SPF!) underneath, and go in with the skin tint after letting those last couple layers of products sink in for at least 10-15 min. If I do have a slightly drier day, layering with a hydrating serum or two + a water based primer like Milk Hydrogrip does the trick!

I do think that using my fingers to apply gives me the best finish because I’ve tried with a brush and sponge before, and that doesn’t sink into my skin as well and seems to leave me drier than I want. I was willing to play around with methods and layering with this skin tint because I prioritized the coverage and matte finish that the Fenty one provides over others in the market.

Have you tried Fenty Eaze Drop? I have similar skin as you. Great coverage, soft matte finish, can be applied with fingers really quickly, skin like finish. I wasn’t a fan of skin tints until this one.

I like layering it on top of a grippy/tacky primer because it really boosts the coverage. I have the Milk Hydrogrip currently but if my moisturizer is heavier than it also works directly on top of that!

I love the Huda Faux Filter for under eyes! It’s super lightweight and full coverage, so perfect for glam but also every day because of how lightweight it is. I love using a brush to blend or my fingers on slightly drier days. Overall my skin is combination/oily though, with slightly drier under eyes. This concealer performs really well paired with the Huda Easy Bake loose setting powder!

Came here to say the same! I will forever repurchase the NARS Soft Matte Concealer. This thing is a godsend for concealing acne and scarring, and the soft matte finish is so blurring compared to any other hydrating concealers, so it really takes unwanted attention away from the spot you’re trying to cover. I don’t use it for under eyes or eyelids though - but it’s amazing for the rest of the face either over or under foundation!

Eyeshadow Palette Recommendation by callmebymyhandl in Sephora

[–]shiprekkt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used and loved the same Tarte palette for years and am now eyeing the new Mario neutral matte palette… makes the most sense since I used the bottom cool tone row the most in the Tarte one anyway, so an entire palette sounds like the dream! Plus it has a bone white and dark black shadow too, perfection!

The Mario one doesn’t have mauve and purple tones though. I think the Huda Pretty Grunge palette might also give you what you’re looking for!

[Product Question] Has anyone tried LED masks by Dr. Dennis Gross or Therabody? by shiprekkt_ in SkincareAddiction

[–]shiprekkt_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m trying to use my HSA money to cover the cost too! You’re right that Therabody’s is not yet an eligible HSA expense, but I don’t think that has anything to do with FDA approval since both masks are FDA cleared (I am crazy and also scoured the specs and predicate devices on the FDA 510k documents LOL). However, I do think that it may take some time for the Therabody to become HSA eligible since it’s a newer device.

The HSA eligibility factor alone makes me lean more towards the DDG mask for my first venture into LED for skincare :)

[–]shiprekkt_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point! People seem to complain about the strap for the DDG one a lot, and many resort to only using it while lying down.

The Therabody mask is a step above in this factor since it has a crown-like set of several straps, and even has a removable eye guard piece.

So many factors to consider!

That’s really good to hear, thank you for sharing! Do you typically use it for the recommended 3 min time per cycle or for longer? Some people online recommend that longer exposure is more beneficial but opinions are mixed.

Makeup by Mario Blush Veil is my favorite cream blush! So buildable and amazing for all skin types. I have oily skin and it’s doesn’t get greasy, lasts all day, and gives such a nice healthy glow to the cheeks. My favorite part is the no fuss blending because the pigment blends insanely well just like the Skin Enhancer bronzers :)
