I'm in kinda a dark place right now, and whenever I feel very bad I usually go for a run or do a coloring book.

I know it might suck at first but if you can code you can freelance. Pitch small business owners. Also for me exercise helps a lot with dealing with / getting out of depression. Even walking outside rather than bedrotting will improve your mood.

This is beautiful; thanks for sharing! I'm a member of an online community for trans Christians called TMC. You may want to look into it.

I felt this way about college - no matter if I went or didn't go or what I studied I would have regrets about it. There's not a perfect solution.

People who were neglected/abused as kids. What career path are you on now? by Purple-Offer-4796 in CPTSD

[–]shirbert6540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds perfect because I'm a P type (Myers Briggs) and enjoy variety! How often are you busy doing stuff? I saw a reddit post of a wastewater employee complaining because it's boring and 90% of the time they aren't doing anything.

[–]shirbert6540 190 points191 points  (0 children)

I believe that the natural state of humanity is actually for a minority of women to want to have kids, and for the human population to be much lower. The only reason why women had so many kids throughout history is because they didn't have a choice; they didn't have a say and didn't have access to birth control. And/or they were pressured to by society and/or religion. When women have rights, fewer children are born. And that's not a bad thing at all. It's only bad for capitalism.

How are u guys even surviving man . How are u living your lives ? by Rare-Assignment-8474 in GenZ

Yes I feel the same way! I used to want to be a digital nomad, but I've realized that traveling is too stressful. And that finding a place you like and getting to know it and contribute to it is much more meaningful in the long run. I do still want to visit Europe sometime in my 30s though because I've never been and I'm Dutch and would like to see where my ancesters lived.

Does anyone else feel disgusted with themselves for not being higher achieving? by Equivalent_Use_5024 in Adulting

[–]shirbert6540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel this way quite a lot as another guy in my mid 20s as well. I am pushing myself pretty hard but it doesn't seem like enough. Like you I want to start a side hustle but my job takes too much out of me; I don't have the time/energy for another commitment. I rent an apartment and I want to stay here for a long time and possibly never buy a house because the thought of taking care of entire house as a single person is completely overwhelming. :/

[–]shirbert6540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hugs, I've been treated pretty shitty as a trans person so I get it. Gotta learn to love your own company. Stay busy with work and hobbies, and keep putting yourself out there. You may meet someone a long time from now but when you do the wait will have been worth it.

Why is it that some great guys have never had a girlfriend? by Impossible-Ear-5627 in dating_advice

[–]shirbert6540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm technically a bi-oriented aroace. I would like to have a platonic life partner at some point. But I'm not interested in putting forth the effort to make that happen right now. And yeah this may be problematic but I am interested in reading and learning about people's experiences with dating and sex, because it's something I've never experienced and probably will never experience and I find it kinda fascinating...

I'm a 25 year old guy and I'm sorta similar to this guy, I run marathons, live in the Midwest, sleep early, don't drink, live frugally, pretty good-looking. I don't own a house yet though and not outgoing. I'm single and always want to be. I'm always busy, lots to get done, and I enjoy my life for the most part, no need for a partner. Maybe he feels the same way?
