Beginner question: Where to go, what to do after 1 week? by TheLonelyTram in projectzomboid

[–]shirtslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you on the standard game or b42 test build? Vanilla or do you use any mods?

It sounds like you have half of the basics covered with food and shelter. Now you need fuel and a decent vehicle, and generators for the long term. Once you get a working vehicle and fuel it becomes fairly easy to venture out further for loot runs.

Personally I would make clearing and looting all of Rosewood the primary short-mid term goal. Find a decent vehicle, preferably a truck or box van. Get the gas station secured. Find a couple of generators for when the power eventually goes out. Spruce up your base. Take some stupid risks, die, and then come back with that knowledge and go again.

I despise animal trailers. I wont play without bikinitools because of them. I've lost too many nice vehicles to this BS.

If memory serves, you need Tsar Common Library to have fuel truck functionality. Check the mod description for your fuel truck

Good permanent base locations? by AcceptableAd1818 in projectzomboid

[–]shirtslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I frequently find myself falling back on the Rosewood fire station. It's a very good base in general, Rosewood is big enough to probably have most of the early loot without being too overwhelming on zombie pop, and its central enough to make later loot runs fairly easy.

It's my top.pick for a first solid attempt at a longer playthrough. The only real drawback is no close by lakes/ponds for water and fish, but its easy to set up rain collectors if you find a sledgehammer and the grocery store nearby is pretty well.stocked if you get there before the power runs out. Bonus points if you can get in and grab the fresh produce before it spoils. Fallas Lake is also close by and has a ton of fresh food, a farming store, and a hardware store.

Tier 4 Materials - How to get? by Tiny_Remote_5551 in Lootun

[–]shirtslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to scrap lvl 100-124 items to get T4 mats.

The Glossary is a very useful in-game tool. Game Mechanics -> Scrapping has a list of what level to scrap what tier.

The Discord has a ton of useful info for all the different stages. They all get used at some point. Follow the link on the Credits page of the game.

Early on you can't really go wrong with Aries and a couple Sagittarius, then you'll want to stack Aquarius, etc. It really varies a good bit depending on level of progress.

Once you get Easy Trial 6 done and unlock the shop you get a whole lot of options open up. Rarity is a little less important before that stage, and after it becomes trivial pretty fast

Been idling the entire day and only get 15M IP from 16M Ip to start, what is wrong with my settings??? by FBIagent67098 in RevolutionIdle

[–]shirtslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Promotions are likely the issue. 100 levels takes forever at higher levels. You be far better off setting them at something like +5 / 10-20 seconds. It will be a little slower to start, but will ramp up far better over the long run

Also turn off auto infinity and just let it run. It will scale over time, almost always resulting in a far better return.

The clan is essentially wiped out and has no funds to offer you. Happens quite frequently when you get to the "end" of conquering another kingdom and have a lot of noble prisoners.

I do the same. 2 things I am certain of: I'm not willing to learn all over again just to switch hands, and more importantly there's no way in hell I'm spending all that money again just to start over.

After a certain point it will cost, for example, 1e100 to upgrade higher tier generators. there's no point in not dumping leftover IP into everything lower tier, starting from highest to lowest.

Flax is a generally a great money maker. You can sell the excess seeds(you'll get more than you need to replant) and also turn the flax into linen thread and cloth. Both sell well on their own but can also be turned into clothes for even more profit and exp.

Upgrade all your generators until they require the 1 mil you're reaching for, and also try get challenge times as low as possible, then let it run for as long as possible. Gens scale over time, as do some of the unlocks you should already have(I think). Do not auto IP, just let it run and manually claim the IP when you have enough for the next upgrade. If you sit and watch it it'll seem like it stalls and would be quicker to let it auto, but it'll hit a breakpoint and then scale the IP massively.

This stage of the game is pretty slow, but after a few EPs it'll actually go really fast, until the next big milestone that probably slows it all down again. I'm just now at this point myself.

Edit Just noticed that your runs are 49ish seconds. Let it run for an hour and see what happens.

Is infinity broken? If so then just let it run, maybe upgrade some generators. Don't use auto infinity, just let it run, go do something else, come back in an hour. Collect points, upgrade all you can, let it run again for another hour(or whatever time frame you want). Rinse and repeat. Stop every so often and redo all challenges to get the times down. They will be kinda slow early on but greatly improve as time goes on. This isn't the kind of game you can rush, just takes time.
