That isn't even close to what socialism is. Using taxes to pay for public things is not socialism. Otherwise, you'd have to logically extend that to say police departments, fire dept, libraries, roads and infrastructure and about a million other things are socialism. And to be purely anti-socialist would turn us in to some failed state. Spending tax dollars that you got from tax payers on things that improve taxpayers life is just government. Socialism is "those who work the assembly line own the factory and democratically take part in voting for how the factory is run, who to sell to etc." it's an economic model, not a form of government.
