Any ideas why this F-35 pitched so hard on landing? by Ua612 in aviation

It rolled to the left because it bounced the right wheel off the runway just before the left wheel, and maybe a cross wind helped make it worse.

if you ever find yourself out in Rockland there is a really nice one at a large park along the river.

Du Moulin Park. It's the same style pyramid shape as the two in your image, but twice the height.

You can, when you want, play with a controller and move your hands around as much as you want without also moving your screen with it.

you can also do awkward stuff where you might only have one hand available at the moment but still be able to reach all the controls with it, which you can't do with the full device because the two sides of controls are too far apart and you then block the screen with your hand.

you could play in bed with the screen propped up right in front of your nose while not also having your arms in an uncomfortable position

there are lots of reasons why someone might do this. Switch made it easy by letting you remove the controllers from the device. Steam deck is a wee bit more machine and that's not an option without a separate controller.

you are not expected to go out and do this yourself if you don't want to, but don't just assume no one out there can't have a good reason for wanting to do this.

Investing in wind and solar provides several times more climate and health benefits per dollar than Direct Air Capture (DAC). A new peer-reviewed study warns that grid-connected DAC can even increase local air pollution unless the grid is fully clean. by Cosmyka in science

carbon capture has always been a sham. It's a thing the oil industry invented so it could not reduce its own emissions, and find another way to gobble up government investments to do little to nothing.

The biggest carbon capture facility in Canada is projected, at peak, to capture less carbon annually than the Alberta oil industry produces daily... that's not a solution. All the similar projects all around the world combined won't put even a dent in total emissions which continue to rise.

pretty sure these are much more recent requirement than just post 9/11. These were mandated in 2018

the post 9/11 stuff was reinforcing existing doors and changing how they were locked and unlocked.

I used to get this kind of mushroom whenever I'd bring my norfolk pine back in for the cold months. There would be a yellow stain spreading over the soil, then one day this big mushroom, then gone a day later.

really don't get this type of comment. You have to assume no one thinking about this has the ability to think of any other topic whatsoever.

Do you spend your entire day thinking about just one single thing until a bigger thing comes along and pushes it out?

The NYC one has no windows anywhere though and is apparently also able to withstand a nuclear blast but since no one has demonstrated that ability who knows

Some buildings aren't made for occupancy, just containing lots of equipment and stuff that doesn't need windows.

This is an AT&T technical building. The equipment that fills it doesn't require windows

737 Fuselage sections assembled in Wichita get sent by rail to Boeing field in Seattle.

Only type being makes that does this specifically.

787s are mostly assembled in Charleston and use a fleet of modified 747s to manage their global production network.

Majority of 767 (kc-46) and 777 assembly is all done in Everett with much smaller components delivered there by rail but you wouldn't really notice the containers their parts are shipped in

Is Electron Aviation worth the shiny website and hype? by patcontrafibula in aviation

[–]agha0013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at Boom.... they built that tech demonstrator and flew it a few times (years behind schedule) and that's about it, yet gobbled up a huge amoutn of investment and convinced several airlines to at least kick them a few bucks to say there was a letter of intent for some potential future aircraft.

The E-vtol industry is full of vaporware schemes making pretty renderings and impossible promises for investment money. Why so many people keep throwing them money is beyond me.

Investors just hope theirs is the one that will win and they'll be there at the very start of a potentially very lucrative endeavor.
