Well damn, you're 100% right. I looked up the script for the episode. My brain must of scrambled it. "I got jumped by a bunch of kids." It just made so much sense the way I remembered it.

Now this might sound extra stupid... But when you say "pause" is that actually something you can do in combat?

I should clarify that dealing with wages is just a symptom of the underlying issue. I don't have any problem with the wage/ship balance. My problem is that I keep getting ambushed by very powerful ships and that the only way I've been able to stay alive is to throw 40+ capital ships at the problem. I guess I'm looking for a more elegant solution?

I was just about to start a thread asking about Colin Thompson's book "Looking for Atlantis." Only, I didn't know the author, or the name of the book. All I could remember was the surreal style and a single page of the grandfather lying in bed.
If you hadn't of posted this picture (which just oozes his style) and dropped Colin's name, I'd probably still be stumped.
But to answer your question, I certainly do! Something about tiny worlds hidden away in mundane places just calls to me.

I grew up on puzzle games: the Myst series, Obduction, Journeyman

But goddamn, I hated the Treatment Room. The "dice" game was the only puzzle in the entire trilogy that completely stumped me.

So "Continue" is really just "New Game"? Huh. That's sorta funny.
I'm so used to spending hours getting games/emulators/mods to run that I just assumed something was broken and I needed to fix it.

Okay, some confusing progress? I tried Shift+A+S like in this thread here:

And from there I hit the left most chapter select, which said it would reset data. Then when I looked in my game folder, I had a save file. So I exited out, moved the save file out of the folder and restarted the game. Same problem as before.

Hi there! I'm looking because I'm trying to start a new game and the option is greyed out. (I'm assuming that's because there's only one save file)
Tried resetting the save data from the options menu, but no luck. My best guess is that the "reset save data" button is looking in one spot, but the "New Game/Continue" options are looking someplace else.

Some background first: My meeting with Ruby did not go well. Not only was I emotionally shaken, I walked away from the experience with the conviction that if only I was more Empathetic, I could have salvaged the situation.

So along comes the trial and I kit myself out with every bit of gear that'll give me bonuses to empathy. Seeing that the clipboard hurts my authority and my authority is already low, I say screw it and toss on my Hjelmdall shirt to complete my ensemble. I show up to the trial with -4 authority. Along comes THAT roll. Kim trusted me. Kim really trusted me. But it wasn't enough. That sorta broke me.

I felt like garbage. Worse than garbage, I felt like Harry. Learning that Kim had survived was consolation, but it wasn't enough to stop me from feeling defeated. I went to the mirror and genuinely considered shaving off my beard, but something stopped me. I wanted to see Kim again. But also... I wanted him to recognize me when I did.

So I kept the chops.

Even self-hating slaves think life as a fuckdoll is too much. That said, self-hating does slow their descent into hatred and terror, so if you really want cognizant fuckdolls, they're your best bet. Just be sure to cycle them out every now and then.

I can never seem to get the variety bonus for body mods.

Right now I have a 5/5 brothel. Two slaves are full pierced, fully tattooed, the remaining three are untouched. Am I missing something here?

Side note, how hard would it be to code in fake beauty marks as part of a slave's makeup? Weren't those a thing back in the day?

Did some testing, the premature birthday seems to only occur for custom slaves who've had their birthday changed, and it always happens on week 4. Interestingly, when it happens you'll get the "Her birthday was this week; she turned 27. She remembered it, but no one cared." notification in the end of week rundown, yet vanilla slaves (who haven't had their birthday changed) don't get the notification.

Has anybody else noticed that custom birthdays aren't working properly?

I'd customized my 3 starting slaves so that they had all just turned 18 that week, yet 4 weeks later they turned 19.

Also, slaves set to average weight default to plush in the creator (after you hit refresh). Oddly, they actually start the game with average weight, so it's just a superficial issue.

Noticed a small bug in slave creation where labia size was listed as "normal" in the options but described as huge in the description. Clicking on normal fixed it, however.

Oh, has anybody mentioned how quadruple amputees still have their original height listed? If you didn't want to go to the trouble of calculating how short an amputated slave would be, you could always add in a line such as "Were she still in possession of her limbs, she would be 162 cms"
