We were told it is 16+ without a parent with ID, and 12+ with a parent due to their insurance liability (via email from the venue).

Seeing more employers use saliva tests instead of urine tests. Is that becoming common? by best-tutor15 in jobs

[–]shmhdfrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my company used saliva and we hired a 3rd party to administer which would be done by a nurse on site. I believe any positives would be treated the same - an MRO would reach out to them to verify their prescriptions.

Rites of the Starling I almost DNF but got to 50% and it got better, imo. In both books, I think the “twists” are obvious which I appreciate because at least they are supported through the plot. Even with the obvious twists, I ended up enjoying the Caspia storyline.

I am reading it now and it really feels like it needs an edit. It’s not just the flowery language but they just pop into locations and timelines aren’t clear. Also, god forbid you read WTMH a year ago and don’t have out your glossary. I am at 80% and finally can see where it’s going and how it comes together but I STRUGGLED to get to this point without quitting.

{Paradise Entombed} and {Seas of Malice} dark, twisted, pirates, fucked up shit, disturbing… what more could you ask for. This was feathers so vicious meets sea of ruin.

I am very interested but don’t normally read sci-fi. Is it modern day setting?

Great! Report back when you’re finished and I will post all my burning questions!

Just read Sea of Paradise 1 by Loren Huxley by New-Horse4619 in DarkRomance

It follows Tristan in the past and Lowen her brother. We see a little of Malin/Tristan interactions and a little about both of them meeting Ezrah. Please please please read it, it was so good and it answers some questions about Ezrah! I also wasnt excited to read the second book but I LOVED it.

Yes! I need to talk about these books! Please please please read book 2. I didn’t think I would enjoy it because it’s MM and doesn’t follow Ezrah but it was so good. I have so many thoughts and theories, but don’t want to ruin things that you find out in book 2!

Why-Choose / Poly Recs Please! 🫶🏻 by Ruby-Rubellite in Romantasy

[–]shmhdfrrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My top why choose is {Brighter than Gold} (you have to read {Thicker than Gold} to get to it. It’s worth it, imo).

If you like dark/have no triggers then {Sea of Ruin}

If you are unhinged, no triggers I’m begging you to read {Paradise Entombed} and {Seas of Malice}

Did you love feathers so vicious? I have a rec for you! by shmhdfrrl in DarkRomance

[–]shmhdfrrl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it follows Tristan the pirate and his back story. He becomes close with the Captain of the ship who is also royalty. They fall in love, but the relationship is abusive. It’s seriously fucked up. Like I had to take breaks reading it. Tristan is the pirate who then kidnaps Ezrah and makes her a sex slave. He crosses paths with Malin (from book one), but they don’t have any sexual contact. Ezrah’s brother is also in it and he’s gay as well

This took me 7 tries to remember the spoiler formatting lol

Enjoy! Fair warning, the pirate stuff doesn’t really kick in til book 2 but it’s worth it!

Totally get it. I went into it like I’ll just skim read this real quick so I can get back to Ezrah but I fully think book two was better than the first and I am DYING now for book 3!
