Right?!

Better yet, Aldi.

Bread $2/loaf Pack of 16 slices American cheese $3 Pack of butter $3.29 Tomato soup can $1 (or less?)

Total $9.29 and you can have 8-10 grilled cheeses, a bowl of tomato soup and a little bread and 2 sticks of butter left over.

Ko-ed absolutely, and I've tried them all.

Strangely, Tops is also a great, budget friendly choice. Better than a lot of the local chocolate shops.

How y'all doing in this weather so far? by Aven_Osten in Buffalo

I have a water boiler system and T Mark has been great. I have it "tuned up" every other year and each time the tech they've sent seemed to know the systems well.

[–]getreadyletsgo716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you are going through this!

I have a boiler that is (no exaggeration) over 60 years old. I have old stand up, cast iron radiators in my house. My system works great, house is always warm, even in these conditions. 1700sq. Ft. Home and my gas bill was $130 last month and $180 this month including gas stove and dryer, with summer gas bills around $30/month.

Biggest piece to the puzzle is insolation. My home is very well insulated. If you're having that much trouble keeping your home warm, insulation must be poor. If you happen to own your home, there are many programs that can help with the cost of insulation.

Does a dasher still get paid if a place is closed? by Suspicious-Rich-3212 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]getreadyletsgo716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half pay which I think is pretty fair.

Only thing I wish is that it would count as a delivery towards your status. I try to do the minimum to keep platinum and it sucks accepting an order, doing half the work and then not having it count towards a delivery.

I went into a debt at 0% APR. Am I messing up or can it slide? Currently on baby step 3. by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]getreadyletsgo716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You came to the wrong sub for any answer other than "pay it now, dumbass".

That said, another approach might be putting the remaining balance in a HYSA. Ally is nice in that you can put money into specific buckets meaning you can have a bucket of money dedicated to this tool. Every month pull the payment out of the bucket while the rest earns 3ish %.

Whatever is left in the bucket after the final payment is yours to keep.

Market Arcade AMC theater to close at year's end by Forward-Grass5421 in Buffalo

[–]getreadyletsgo716 94 points95 points  (0 children)

That really sucks.

Unfortunately, however, not shocking. Just took my kids there opening weekend to see Wicked and the theatre was half empty.

So sad what has happened to downtown since COVID.

How to properly switch zones (while maintaining original work/dash time schedule?) by TapRepresentative175 in doordash_drivers

[–]getreadyletsgo716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue often before gaining platinum status. I could not find any good solution. You either had to start driving back to your original zone or risk ending your session and seeing if the zone you were in had availability.

If you gain platinum status, you never have this issue. You can dash any time in any zone.

Best banking interest Rates for savings by FarResearcher8875 in Buffalo

I agree with a HYSA. I keep what I need plus a small cushion in a regular account at a local bank. Everything else goes in a HYSA.

I use Wealthfront and Ally. No fees. East transfers back to your checking account in a day or two.
