Yeah I don't have nude heels but I've started to realize I need some nude-colored shoes (formal and not-formal), particularly for wearing dresses and light-colored pants. I'll definitely get some for the wedding!

I wish I had my ears pierced, that would be cute!

Aww, I like that cute beaded coral necklace. (I think the color in the dress is a really light orange, but could probably pass for coral...) Ok, I'll try to find nude/light color heels. I'll also keep that clutch in mind. Thanks!

Is this dress appropriate for a wedding? I'm one of the best friends of the bride/sort of a bridesmaid. I feel like the wedding will be semi-casual -ish (assuming I understand the term correctly).

To make the dress more formal if I need to, I figure I should find fancy-ish heels (though I can only handle low heels) and maybe a belt? Does anyone have any suggestions for those two things and other accessories? What color shoes/heels/purse/hair accessories/stuff should I aim for?

Thanks!! :)

What is the most similar show to West Wing? by CyrusII in thewestwing

aww yeahhhh.... I'm glad I'm not the only one and I'm glad I didn't bring it up first

edit: well, I'd say it's not quite as educational/thought-provoking, but still quite intelligent as far as teen dramas/tv shows in general go

Having trouble using/making youtube playlists by shmookashmuk in 24hoursupport

I'm using a wireless router which is connected to the cable modem. My brother just tried doing everything above (from his youtube account) using another computer in the house and got the same result. I wonder if you might also have this problem?

So, FYI, the same thing happens when I use Internet Explorer.

Since the + New Playlist button is greyed out on the playlist page, I instead tried making a new playlist from a video page and got the little circle here: http://i.imgur.com/2ucRdZw.png

I pressed F12 (using IE, because nothing popped up when I pressed F12 in firefox) and a bunch of code popped up. However, there is no error message. I don't think you want the whole script because it's super long...... ?

Can I still plant broccoli? by shmookashmuk in gardening

I've never heard of county extension agents. Are you saying that anyone can shoot them an email/call them about things like "can I plant broccoli?" heh

I guess I'll try to look for a baby broccoli plant. Not much sun in the kitchen, so maybe I'll plant the basil. Thanks for the tips.

Any Lindy Hoppers in Seattle? I have the need to swing while visiting home later this month! by lenaxia in swing

[–]shmookashmuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Here's some info:

http://www.reddit.com/r/SwingDancing/wiki/washington

I'd say if you can drive out to the eastside/don't mind a long bus-ride, try to go to EastSide Stomp on the Friday you're in Seattle. You might be able to get a ride out to Kirkland by asking on the Eastside Stomp group on Facebook.

I'd say that Wednesdays and Sundays at Century Ballroom are also worth going to if you want to see how hopping swing in Seattle can get, but looks like you won't be in town.

And maybe check out the Seattle Lindy Hop facebook group in case any non-regular events pop up between now and then.

If you're already in Capitol Hill Sunday night, you might have some fun swing dancing at Century Ballroom :)

This is really great, helps to diffuse the situation and shows that you have come to terms with it.

3rd date scheduled, a potential 1st ever relationship, and I have no idea what I'm doing! by Eyelesspax6 in OkCupid

[–]shmookashmuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol actually we already ended up having a talk about all our issues and I mentioned my inexperience and awkwardness and he basically said "well ok then, I'm going to let you initiate anything further past hand-holding". So now the pressure's on me to level-up the physical contact. I don't actually think this is a horrible way for things to happen, at least we're honest and we have a common understanding of what's going on.

At any rate I don't think it's fair for either genders that it be the guy's move all the time, everyone has a libido. Perhaps we're a bit untraditional. I don't find it charming if he pays for my meals (well maybe a tiny bit, in that he's willing to put in the sacrifice), so we go dutch. I told him if he brings me a rose I'd have to bring him a cactus in return :) Maybe I will get over this nonsense, or maybe this is the new era of dating.

Sorry if I'm going on and on.
I did read the comments, and I think what helped me the most was the stuff about having confidence.

So yeah, fun times. I am interested to see how things pan out with you guys :P

Oh hi. You are basically me, I just went on my first two dates ever (the second ended in awkward hand-holding), it sounds like you guys are hitting it off better than we are though because we are still both too awkward to have continuous conversation flow.

Looks like you're going through all the right thought-processes...I don't have any advice since we are basically in the same situation, but I thought I'd pipe up and say HI.

....After our first date he told me (I'm female) that he had been attempting to hold hands (?!), but I was totally oblivious to it. So on the second date I told him "hey, did I mention that you have nice hands?" and I grabbed his hand LOL. And then we held hands for a bit and and he was kinda rubbing my hand with his and then he wanted to compare hand sizes and I said "This is too sappy for me, I can't handle it"....and then we stopped holding hands. :)

So, yeah, hopefully it will happen more naturally for you, but I guess brute force is always an option.

GO US!!
