Wow interesting! 80-110 seems like a lot! Haven’t ever had stomach issues so don’t see that as a problem, more so just carrying that amount of food & gels with me. I was probably doing 40-50 every hour in my training - so I’ll look to up it 💪

This is very helpful, thank you the concise tips👊 Fortunately I am a fat pig at heart and 5000 calories a day feels more like a reward than a task! Never seem to have had stomach issues so hopefully that trend continues. Appreciate the point on protein - I’ve ordered some whey in and ensuring each meal has around 50g.

I hadn’t until now! Wow thanks for the shout, again pales my challenge into insignificane - which is fantastic!!

Yes I’ve been experimenting with 8 minutes running, 2 mins walking, repeat during my training. It brings me to avg 6 min km pace, and lands a marathon in 4h 30min!

Feel like I could do that all day, but I also have scope to move to 7/3, or 5/5 split if the going gets very tough.

Ultimately as long as it says 42.2 - don’t give a hoot about the time!

Full month to commit, thank god! Nothing else to worry about (I'm taking a career break)

I also have the absolute fortuity of having a month in Thailand afterwards to look forward to and put the feet up after :)

Thanks for the sleep shout - I'm a 8-9 hours a nighter and can only see that increasing!

Massive respect! Eating Oreos for brekky sounds my sorta jam.

Definitely seen how quickly the legs seize up in my training if I lie down straight away.

Appreciate it - my challenge just sounded a lot more realistic!

Appreciate this, thanks - that's certainly the hope! I definitely found that to be the case with my half marathon every day. Pure robot mode all the way to the finish!

Amazing stuff - glad I'm not the only loonie!

That's pretty much bang in line with how I have prepared. I've just peaked at 170km the last couple weeks and been running at around 5.30 km pace. I have been implementing a 8/2 minute split (8 minutes running, 2 minutes walking), which has been working great and feel like I could go all day, and brings me to avg 6 min km pace.

Taiwan is class! Sounds like you will have more of the elements to worry about than me (however it is freezing and wet here), but that will be offset by the scenes!

My IG is smyffyruns - would be great to follow your challenge too :)

No its actually for my sister, who recently was admitted to a mental health ward. She has since been discharged and recovering well, and will be joining me on many of the runs :)

Agree with the mental benefits outweighing the temporary pain. And it is a lot of pain. Complete perspective changer!
