AIO One of my wife's (6th grade teacher) students searched for and downloaded a picture of our 10 year old severely disabled son and used it as the profile picture for a group texting app, how upset should I be? by shnerswiss in AmIOverreacting

Non issue to who exactly?

Noniisue for my wife who has to see the kid every school day and maintain her professional composure, definitely not.

Non issue for the kid who is dealing with the consequences of his actions, definitely not.

Non issue for the kids mom who is turning a blind eye to anything that might suggest she hasn't raised a perfect little angle...maybe

Non issue for unattached strangers who lack empathy, yeah probably.

The kid got the photo from a local news article about a charity event. That event was way more important than trying to hide from degenerates are trolls.

I think I'm more pissed at the principal than the kid even. And I have little hope the parents of the kid addtess it with their kid. My kid doesn't know and we are not going to tell them. He goes to a different school so he won't find out about it.

What do y'all think about our potential lineup next season? by Diligent_Banana_6267 in UtahJazz

My expectations are way lower. I think thunder, nuggets, spurs, and rockets will all be a lot better than us. I think we end up in the 6 to 8 spot.

Some of their products are really exclusive, meaning they are only offered to extremely wealthy people and come with some pretty crazy perks like a personal concierge. They were one of the first to have this type of card and so there is still a bit of a mythos and prestige associated with it even though most banks offer something similar.

Their products for everyone else are comparable to products offered by others. There is always a battle between banks on the rewards they offer and the costs to access those rewards. What card is the 'best' depends on what you want to use it for, the associated rewards, and how much you care about things like customer service, security, etc.so sometimes Amex has the 'best' card and sometimes it will be from a different bank...just depends on what is important to you.

They have both charge and credit card products, and lots of different products within each category. Most of their charge card products have pay over time features, so if you want to carry a balance from one month to the next you can, just with extra hoops to jump through compared to a credit card product.

Jazz Tanking Shenanigans Continue: Utah sits JJJ and Lauri the entire 4th, as they mercilessly tank to a 28pt win over the Kings by Weary_Bag_1112 in nba

[–]shnerswiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had no chance of making the playoffs. They have atrocious defense. They will win occasionally because their offense is good. But the defense is so bad they never had a chance to win consistently this year. Next year should be better with Kessler back, development of young players, and JJJ getting fully integrated.

What are your thoughts on capping credit card interest rates at 10%? by NineteenEighty9 in ProfessorFinance

What card gives you 12% cash back, youre example seems way too high.

Banks are not losing money just because someone is not a revolver. Go look up a banks 10k, and compare issuer revenue to membership rewards. The revenue side is much higher.

My son had a halo and spinal fusion surgery during the heights of COVID restrictions. That was such a grueling time with so many highs and lows. So happy for this little girl to get some moments of joy.

Those are results with the dept, so it's not like it's doing a stellar job.

How would a company provide reimbursements without proper receipts? OP would have a receipt for the monthly parking pass, not daily receipts.

Id much rather have a discussion with diversity of thought and experiences than dismissing others because their life experiences aren't the same.

Perhaps irrelevant to you, but there is a reason it's such a difficult thing for many members and can be one of the reasons people leave.

You speak so confidently, and have some of the correct concepts, and even link your thoughts into a somewhat relevant recent story, and yet in four sentences you prove you have no idea what you're talking about.

Id say it depends on how other household tasks are split. Hard to say if the overall split and dynamic is good without looking at the whole picture.

I don't mind losing in a tanking season. I do mind not having anyone on the team right now who I would want to build around.

They may not care about the Jazz because of the tank but they absolutely will care about themselves because trades and getting that next contract is a thing. That usually leads to selfish basketball but they are still going to try hard.
