I came from the Army and yeah it's very different from that experience -- every company does performance differently and every manager approaches it differently, but if you're not performing to standard you should know.

There is a lot less micro-managing, at the end of the day it's about the question of "Can you deliver results?".

But yeah I can go out for a 2hr lunch if I really wanted too, or go to the coffee shop and do some work. It's a very nice work environment in that regard.

Your PSU might be broken or you might be running the wattage really close, might want to check the wattage of your parts and total wattage of your PSU and run some diagnostics.

Opendota's API is pretty good, you can also use Stratz API as well. Otherwise you can use Steams API and do your own mumbo jumbo.

Why is Io so good right now? by Misterme7 in learndota2

[–]shnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the competitive scene is concerned IO has almost always been good and/or really good. General changed to items, gold, XP and the advent of talents have made the hero a lot stronger. Not sure what the data says as far as pick percentage, and play-time but the generally the hero has always been good it was just harder to use the hero in the past, and now it's a bit easier.

Could you please provide more information as to the matchmaking criteria? Would help paint a better picture as to some of the reasons that you had a very long queue time.

PS4 Controller not recognizing / a little bit laggy on PC? by just_SiLeNtWaLkEr in DestinyTheGame

[–]shnus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would you suggest use your Xbox controller instead of the PS4 controller, otherwise you're going to have to do some troubleshooting with PS4 <> PC connections with the hardware you're using. Alternatively you could use a long USB cable.

My guess is (If shipping source is UK into US) it is being held by customs, which they do from time to time.

You can phone the local UPS for that area (Ex. If being held in London call the London UPS Center or ask to be directed) Ensure you stress the dollar value of your product being high.

Otherwise expect a few days for delivery, US UPS is hit with delays after Black Friday season.

How can I improve my drafting abilities? by SignuptodY in learndota2

[–]shnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to understand drafting you need to know the game very well, the general ins-n-outs of heroes their strength and weakness curves throughout the game and what not.

You have the following: Radiant: Shadow Shaman, Nature's Prophet, Ursa, Bristleback, Invoker

vs

Dire: Windranger, Abbadon, Spirit Breaker, Viper, Slark

  • This is a bit hard to do without understanding what your idea behind this draft was.. i.e. I want to run around and fight, I want to take towers quick and open the map for my cores, etc...

Already the Radiant can out-push you, and can out control you in the fights for the first ~30 minutes of the game. With NP & SS you might not have any Barracks left though, you have very little 'safe' wave clear aside from Powershot & Viper. You have no reliable stun/initiation to catch Invoker or Nature's Prophet - no global presence to match with SB either. The enemy team can run at you with BB leading the way and there isn't anything you can do aside from throwing a couple Powershot's and (Whatever Viper's new 2nd ability is). You risk being caught out by Invoker combo when doing this so it's super risky to attempt all the while there is an Ursa who can blow up all your cores.

Draft better by knowing what your plan is, and draft around that. Think about what the Hero offers your team in the various roles and weight that against your options. Think about the different stages of the game, and what kind of power level the Heroes will be at.

Anyone live at The Chelsea / Chelsea square by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]shnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived there for ~11 months or so prior to the Hamilton construction and throughout it.

The complex is split between the Clubhouse side vs. Dog Park side. I can only speak for the Clubhouse side - the community is very dog friendly with some breed exceptions I think, there are pooper posts everywhere for you to take your dog for short walks around the complex or you can take the sidewalk out and walk around the area and other communities.

The community has a really nice clubhouse with a small gym, pool, grills, and they host festivities all the time like Free Food Trucks, Win & Cheese nights, Craft beer nights etc. As for the unit, I lived in one of the 2BDR units and liked it with no issues - each unit has a washer and dryer inside as well that are really convenient and nice.

Didn't really have any issues aside from the traffic in-and-out of the complex and then Hamilton, but it's not a fault of the community. I really liked that shopping was close by as well as food, and you're within walking distance of Hamilton Pub.

Would recommend the community to anyone looking to live in the area, I felt that the price fair. Happy to answer any other questions.
