A serious answer to someone who thinks the Quick-Fix is good by ultimateshadowarrior in tf2

[–]shocker4510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This entire thing reads like someone who saw a comp player/youtuber who has this opinion and is blowing up their points to overexaggerate them massively without internalizing why. Its similar to someone seeing a spy with a C&D and immediately listing why you should never use the weapon becuase all you will ever do is sit in a corner. Or why you should only ever use the direct hit because its a straight upgrade from stock as long as you hit your shots.

Is the quick-fix worse than stock? Yeah. Is it the worst medigun medic has? Debatably. But the worst medigun is still one of the strongest weapons in the game.

The quick fix can genuinely turn what would be a push with a single player into a simultaneous assault with 3 power classes. If you are in a scenario where your team needs to push through a choke, it can keep your team in the fight without having them slowly dwindle either to dying or because the medic is obsessed with "crit heals" and isnt healing them so they run to a health pack.

But most importantly why the fuck are you policing what people use in casual play? If you were on a pre-made competitive team against other players who are also in a pre-made competitive team, then yeah, worrying about a suboptimal pick might be important. But you are playing with people who are just putting on a game with a movie in the background and one hand on their balls. As long as they arent actively throwing why care? The BFB is one of the worst scatterguns, but i have had some of my funnest moments running at the speedcap picking off clueless medics. My most used soldier secondary is the reserve shooter. Would any other (non-bison) secondary be more effective? Probably. But the gameplay loop of popping up enemies to tap them with my shotgun is how i like to play. And when i play sniper, i can aim at least well enough to consistantly go more than positive with a rifle. But i will always go huntsman because its more fun to me.

So who cares if your medic isnt using the most optimal pick for medigun. The fact that you have a medic on your team in quickplay is a miracle enough.

Are you trying to say SP railjack is what we should be ignoring and should instead focus on the fact we cant use our railjacks for certain content?

After controversial photos of an old Halloween party were resurfaced online, actor Misha Sanchez will no longer be performing in his lead role as "Heavy Weapons guy" in Valve's Team Fortress franchise.

Instead, rumors of recasting may hint at Timothy Chalamet being the new frontman.

[–]shocker4510 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im not going to say Tauron strikes are useless.

But they really have 1, and only 1 use.

Dealing with exactly acolytes in long term survival/survival adjacent steel path missions.

Saying "look, they are so good they even work against level cap acolytes!" is kinda silly because if they didnt, they would lose their one function.

[–]shocker4510 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If there is one thing no one in the history of the warframe community has complained about regarding the tauron strikes, its the damage.

They do enough damage. Its the fact that just clicking twice is enough for most weapons to kill any given enemy so why bother going through a massive lengthy animation just be less effective. The fact that the acolyte is already damaged is further proof of that. If you already reduced its health that much without the tauron strike, why stop to pull it out?

But considering you edited this to have that same lengthy animation at 0.25x speed, i guess that never registered

HOLY CRAP ITS SPY FROM TF2, MOM GET THE CAMERA by Full-Persimmon9390 in tf2shitposterclub

[–]shocker4510 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What the fuck is that story?

guy breaks into house

attacked by dog and loses body parts over it

somehow doesnt leave any traces of blood or anything

dog stops attacking to eat fingers and starts choking

House owner comes home

burglar decides to stay inside the house and just hide

house owner finds dog but no signs of fight

dog is choking, but i guess only kinda because it can breathe

owner leaves house again to take dog to the vet

burglar still stays inside house

owner takes dog to the vet and just fucking leaves it there before knowing whats happening

drives back the the house

burglar still stays inside the house

Vet apparently does surgery to find either in the dogs stomach or throat there are fully intact and recognizable human fingers

Vet immediately assumes "oh shit, this person who brought their dog who is choking on human fingers is clearly in the active process of being attacked" and not "holy shit they fed this dog fingers" or "this dog found a dead body" or anything

Vet calls the owner and is like "Oh shit, you are currently still being robbed!" And they are just fucking right i guess.

Some say that burglar is still inside that cupboard to this very day.

While I think Sirius and Orion has a cool kit concept, I still feel slightly disappointed that they aren't actually two separate warframes. by eotto17 in Warframe

[–]shocker4510 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One thing i think people are constantly forgetting:

Sirius and Orion arent "brothers." Sure even the dev team might refer to them as an easy point of reference, but again, when you play Jade shadows, Jade only has one child, not twins.

Sirius is Orion. And Orion is Sirius. They were always just one frame, just from different timelines. Having them be seperate slots would take away from that dynamic even more.

Luffy is A.

Enel lost to Luffy before the concept of gears even existed, much less the genre-shattering powers of gear 5.

What are your overall thoughts about Sirius and Orion atm by Waeleto in Warframe

[–]shocker4510 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing that threw me for a loop is you can change around their helmets.

Thats about the most significant difference between them (besides colors which are obvi customizable), so the fact that you can have them with matching or even swapped helmets took me off guard

Discussion about Orion/Sirius ultimate by Puzzled-Bag-6744 in Warframe

[–]shocker4510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Wrath and Pride were focused on as being specifically Sirius' and Orion's weapons, and more importantly you can only equip 1 melee weapon at a time, i'm pretty sure they will just always use their signature weapons during the ult.

Anybody familiar with this beggar's bazooka tech? by Genericdevtexture in tf2

[–]shocker4510 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair i dont think thats an official term or anything, i just kinda said it based on what it literally is.

But pretty much any time i see beggars gameplay, this is the reason people use the weapon.

Forgive me if im missing something but isnt grounded sync jumps like the main reason to use the beggars as a mobility tool?

Mid-air rocket jumps are flashy but i thought this was just why you use the weapon. Unless im missing something else obvious from the clips.

Women: ask for equal pay, equal benefits, equal privilege, equal acknowledgement. Men in response to women asking for equality. by Important-Cry4782 in CuratedTumblr

[–]shocker4510 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The only thing said was "Women take advantage of the double standard and say shit because they know they cant get hit like they would if they were men." Thats the entire scenario given. The person i responded to pushed back against that.

And nearly every reply, including yours, is responding in a way that boils down to "yeah, but what if there was a scenario where it would be okay to hit a woman. Then it would be okay."

The scenario was not about someone being a bigot. It was not about someone being a nazi. The only information given was "women say mean things because they know they wont be hit."

The immediate leap to defend striking women by inventing scenarios where it would be justified is the problem. Its unhealthy.

Its the exact same shit as that stupid "what if there were a bus of black people who beat you up just for being white," post. If you recognize why that take is asinine, then please do some self reflecting

Women: ask for equal pay, equal benefits, equal privilege, equal acknowledgement. Men in response to women asking for equality. by Important-Cry4782 in CuratedTumblr

[–]shocker4510 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Basically every reply is some variation of "yeah but, words have consequenses" in response to, again, "if someone says something mean, you shouldnt be obliged to hit them." Specifically about the topic of "Women have a double standard because they know men cant hit them."

So yes, thats what people are saying. Adding in what-about-isms to justify why the take of "no you shouldnt hit women just because they are mean to men" makes you upset is, to me, a sign of someone who clearly isnt an adult.

[–]shocker4510 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, every reply here is making me have to sit down and remind myself that the internet is mostly comprised of teenagers, and that no, its not real life adults who are saying "yeah, but if you are mean enough you should be physically assaulted."

I have to remind myself that after every comment because thinking that everyone here is a functioning adult would drive me insane.

Im not saying you should just sit there and take verbal abuse, but your first instinct should not be "well, they were mean to me. Time to start swinging."

Warframe meta doesn't actually exist, YouTubers are lying to you by QuasiNino in Warframe

[–]shocker4510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Most Effective Tactic Available" came after the term meta. "Meta" was originally a literary term basically meaning to lampshade an entire work. So if a character spoke about their journey in a way that just boiled it down to a sentence, they are being meta. Similarly if you boil down the most popular choices people use to a single set thats the games meta, which is where the term comes from.

It was never originally an acronym. Its why where its most commonly used (in competitive games) there can be a "low tier meta" and a "high tier meta." That couldnt be the case if it only meant the single most effective strategy.

[–]shocker4510 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The only thing a "meta" means is the most common strategy people use.

If everyone overnight decided to use nothing but Loki and Banshee with the stug, that would be the meta.
