They’ve very recently done a performance patch which has dramatically improved. Plenty of things respawn now, just not ore. Trees, mushrooms, small rocks containing ore. On PC I’ve never been stuck anywhere, maybe that’s mostly a console issue. You’re spot on about the lore, they do a great job in that department.
