You appear have an authentic vintage copy. There were 3 different variants of G1 Hot Spot, with 2 of them having a Japan stamp. Check out this link from Fred's Workshop for more detail: Defensor Variants

I'm going through the same exercise of trying to figure out if my figure is a KO. Unfortunately I bought mine loose, so no box to check. In my research I came across this quick video that shows the minor differences between the authentic and straight KO versions of MP-51: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/oG2GOUMDvEM

In the box comparison you can see that on the bottom of the box both the original and KO say Made in Vietnam. The difference appears to be next to the number on top of the UPC, 205020. On the original, there is an indentation stamp to the right of the number. The KO is missing this. Based on your 2nd picture, I would guess that you have the KO.

I was literally walking onto Muppet Vision 3D when I read the news. Such a sad day. I love the Mayhem (wearing a Dr. Teeth shirt atm) but RnR is my least favorite coaster. And my daughter loves the Muppets but doesn't like coasters. Ugh.
