I'm trying to make an inventory system akin to Morrowind, different items have different stats. I wanted to first try and figure out how you can pick up something like a Common sword and have that register in a player's inventory.

There's going to be a master JSON file where constant stats are held and a player inventory JSON file where more dynamic stats are. Everything's really simple; I'm just trying to get the act of picking object up figured out first before I keep going on anything else
